Snakes and Wild Boars Found in Monaco’s Ports

Three dead boars were found floating in the entrance to Monaco’s port.

After a few days of bad weather, the ports revealed some sad evidence of the damage to the surrounding valleys. A lot of large debris obstructed the Hercules harbour last week. Animals were later found in the entrance to Monaco’s port. Three dead wild boars were extracted from the waters before being “sent to the Monegasque Society of sanitation to be dealt with.” Three weeks ago, a wild boar was removed from under the Grimaldi Forum. Last Friday, three live serpents were also reported to be seen at the port of Fontvieille, without being captured.

No Danger to Humans

“Presumably the snakes, like the wild boars, were on the edge of a valley and were carried away by the flood. The floating snakes found themselves on large debris until they reached the port of Fontvieille. Despite the fact that these snakes do not present a specific danger to humans, the rescue team took care of them. “When they were spotted, the firemen were alerted. They responded with a specialized team. “
