A five-star hotel in Monaco, the Metropole Hotel is located only a hundred meters away from the Casino, but sometimes it can be difficult to find, just like the namesake trade centre next to it. Look for an artistic arch and a door keeper at the entrance, walk down the cobble stones towards the revolving door, – and you will find yourself in a fairytale and a bit magical world designed at the decorator’s whim in the hotel’s lobby this season. Make sure to stop by here for lunch or just a coffee around some important holiday, for instance, Christmas or Easter Eve, – it is very cozy here. This hotel does not belong to the local SBM group which governs most of the luxurious hotels in Monaco and it has its own very special charisma. The staff is traditionally very friendly here, and they take good care of the comfort of their customers.
The gourmets like Metropole for the delicious lunches and dinners. In Robuchon from the namesake Chef everyone recommends chicken and magical mashed potatoes. Bono might be sitting at the next table from you, and the service is faultless. They also have a great Asian restaurant Yoshi for the lovers of Japanese cuisine.
A helpful tip: the bathroom door is located across the bar in the wall decorated like bookshelves, – you might not notice it at first. Test your friends’ attentiveness after the first drink!
The spa center of the Metropole is worth special attention – in one’s subjective opinion it can easily be the best in the entire Principality. From the slippers and the robes, to the pieces of sugared ginger with the tea in special blackened tea bowls – every trivia here is considered and aimed at peace and wellness. Before undergoing the facial treatment with the ESPA cosmetics the cosmetologist will offer you to choose the aroma for today, and the lighting in the cabinet – and then you can simply close your eyes and get your beauty sleep. Make sure you will have time to check out the swimming pool lounge. Lagerfeld himself designed this part of the hotel, so you should not be surprised to see the black-and-white hues and naked torsos of the ancient gods…
