Roca Team won yesterday over ASVEL 95-91 and confirmed their champions title in the Leaders Cup
It happens the first time in the history of the Leaders Cup that the same team holds the Champion title for two years in a row.
Sergii Gladyr showed brilliant game in the final with 22 points gained, 17 of these points he gained in the last 7 minutes of the game! Dee Bost also gained 22 points and Jamal Shuler – 17 points. But all players of the Roca Team were excellent.
Monegasque lost the first quarter (19-28) but managed to pull themselves together in the second one winning it 27-20. Nevertheless, their opponents weren’t ready to give up quickly so they won again over Roca Team in the third quarter (20-22) but the difference this time was minimal. And the Monegasque team managed to breakthrough and the fourth quarter was in favor of Roca team. The audience blasted with ovations after the final whistle. Roca Team are the champions at the Leaders Cup 2017. They repeated their success of the last year.
Serge Telle, the Minister of State of Monaco, who was at the game, didn’t mask his happiness for the team: “Our team is really impressive, they showed an extraordinary game. Thanks to their great coach as well who led them to this victory!”.
