The curtain has fallen on the 2016/2017 Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series organized from October to March by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with clothing supplier SLAM. The Monegasque race area lit up for the final Act which attracted 250 sailors on 70 boats.  Various shades of blue were to be observed throughout the event as sun, spray and a steady westerly provided favourable conditions for a superb ending.

Normally, the art school is reserved for study and creation. Yesterday, the Bosio Pavilion was accessible to everyone. An open house at the arts college on the Rock. Firstly, so that aspiring students could enter and discover the school. Secondly, to allow curious people to attend the workshops and see the artrooms which the establishment has to offer.

Not a season goes by without an employment conflict in a hotel establishment in the Principality and a crisis is currently smouldering at the Miramar. The three-star hotel, located on the Kennedy wharf and which has thirteen employees, since December 2014 has been the property of Russian Yuri Tskhovrebov. At the beginning of January, the restaurant staff were put on compulsory paid holidays as renovation work began in the restaurant.

Prince Pierre Casiraghi and his wife Beatrice Borromeo were blessed Tuesday with their first child, a baby boy, at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco. The nephew of Monaco’s Prince Albert, Pierre Casiraghi, is currently seventh in line to the throne. His wife, Borromeo, 31, is an Italian journalist.

The latest edition of the Monte-Carlo Comedy Film Festival took place this past week in Monaco. The festival that has been annually welcomed to Monaco since 2001 is the first and only worldwide manifestation dedicated entirely to the wondrous world of comedy. Creators Ezio Greggio, famous Italian comedian best known for his role as presenter on the satirical news show Striscia La Notizia, and Mario Monicelli, one of the most famous and admired Italian directors of our time, came together to honour their passion for comedy.
