Prince Albert II has faith in Monaco’s Bobsleigh Team
HSH Prince Albert II looks back on his performances as a bobsledder and has faith in the Monegasque bobsleigh team, who have just taken part in the World Cup in St Moritz (Switzerland).
“It’s important to follow our young team who has been having interesting results. Rudy Rinaldi is in the midst of becoming an excellent and well-known driver. Boris Vain is an excellent pusher. I think we’ll have some satisfaction in their results and can put our hopes in the team,” said Prince Albert II.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène Honor the Patron Saint of Monaco
On the evening of 26th January Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène respected the tradition by opening the festivities dedicated to the patron saint of Monaco, before the Pontifical Mass in the morning of 27th January.
Despite the chilly January evening, the patron saint of Monaco had its faithful crowd come out to celebrate on the square of the Saint Dévote church. A celebration which is traditionally begun by a procession and the arrival of the relics of martyrdom in a boat along the harbor.
Shortly after 7 pm, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène made their arrival at the church square to participate in the salutation of the Blessed Sacrament by the Archbishop Bernard Bars. A moment of recollection enhanced by the sounds of the Corsican Polyphonies in homage to Saint Dévote. On leaving the chapel, the Prince and Princess broke away from tradition by burning the boat before greeting the audience that awaited them.
At 11:30 am on January 27th, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene followed the procession with their twins.
The princely children made their first appearance this year in the morning at the windows of the Princely Palace to appreciate the procession dedicated to the patron saint of Monaco.
They were the surprise for the second day of celebration for Saint-Dévote. Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella appeared at the windows of the Princely Palace in the arms of their parents. It was the first time the young children watched the procession of relics of Saint Dévote. The public could, from the Palace Square, observe the young children laughing and having fun.
Earlier, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene took part in the Pontifical Mass presided this year by the Apostolic nuncio Luigi Pezzuto in the Cathedral. In his homily, the representative of the Pope in the Principality invited the faithful to reflect on the persecution. A celebration continued by the procession of devotional relics in the streets of Monaco where, from the ramparts, the Apostolic nuncio blessed the city.
Prince Albert II Attended the PSG vs. Monaco match in Paris
Prince Albert II of Monaco, who rarely travels to follow his club on the road, attended the PSG vs. Monaco match on Sunday night. The game ended in a tie: 1-1, which brought the team to the top of the league.
