Sightseeing in Monaco: where to go

Despite its small surface, Monaco is full of beautiful and amazing attractions. If you plan to see all of them, we advise you to come here for at least a weekend. Here is a review of the main places to visit during your trip to the Principality. Bon voyage!

If you like to travel on your own, start your trip by visiting the Tourist Office and get some maps and brochures about museums and monuments. The Office is located two minutes away from the Casino de Monte Carlo (Bus line 2A, Blvd des Moulins, stop: Monte-Carlo -Tourisme). While you are in the Monte Carlo area, take a photo in front of the legendary Casino de Monte Carlo or have a coffee on the sunny terrace of Café de Paris and do some luxury shopping at the pebble-shaped Pavilions.

If you are interested in the history of the Principality, head to Monaco-Ville where the Prince’s Palace is located. Here you will see the changing of the guard, the main Cathedral where all the Grimaldi are buried (including Grace Kelly) and the magnificent Oceanographic museum rising above the cliff. Enjoy the atmosphere of the narrow medieval streets and then get on a touristic train, which will take you to all significant historical places.

If you still have some time and energy left, head straight to the Exotic Garden of Monaco, situated 100 m above sea-level, with stunning views of the area and an entrance to a cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites.

Even if you are not a car lover, you will be impressed by the remarkable collection of vintage cars belonging to HSH Prince Albert II. You can spend a whole day on the Terrasses de Fontvieille enjoying the exhibition that brings together about 100 rare and pristine classic cars. Finish your trip in one of the vibrant bars of the Port Hercules with a breathtaking view of beautiful yachts.
