Carla Bruni concert
29 November 2017| €72,50
Carla Bruni will be back on stage at the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo on 29 November, after having already performed there in 2013, presenting her album French Touch.
Carla Bruni is one of the most graceful French singers. Her simultaneously sensitive, insolent, dreamy and whimsical songs have indisputably left their mark on our time.
The album that you will discover remains surprisingly faithful to the preliminary desire to sing in English. From the opening song “Enjoy the Silence” (1990), from the band Depeche Mode, revisited as a folksong, to the revival of the Swedish quartet Abba “The Winner Takes It All” (1980), reviving the brilliant harmonic of this highly melancholic lament under a disco varnish, each of these madeleines of Proust married the imprint of the musician. These freedoms led her to revisit the Rolling Stones classic “Miss you” (1978) in a Latin-Italian disco vein embellished with a flamenco guitar and oriental strings or to approach the success “Jimmy Jazz” (1979) ) of Clash as a walk.
The rest of the French Touch album, scheduled for release on October 6, extends from rock classics (“A Perfect Day” by Lou Reed among others) to the old standards (“Moon River”, “Love Hurts , “Crazy”), but all the pieces share a quality, as Carla Bruni describes so accurately: “intimacy.”
Tickets are available at €72,50.
