They originated in the 12th century\, when farmers and craftsmen would come to nearest market town to sell their goods and try to engage in bartering agreements. \nIt might come as a surprise\, but despite Monaco’s air of luxury\, the good old-fashioned market is still alive in the principality on a daily basis. \n\n\n\nTraditional Mediterranean markets are held daily at La Condamine( Place d’Armes)  and avenue Saint-Charles. The open air market sells fruit\, vegetables and flowers while there is an additional indoor space that houses the butchers\, bakers\, fishmongers and specialist stalls that sell housewares\, foods and wine. If you want to feel the local flavor Place d’Armes is a good place to have a lunch with a friends and family on weekend. \n\nParking\n\nThere are easily accessible parking at the Parking de la Condamine where the first hour of your stay is free. \n\n\n\nWhere & when\n\nHeld at Place d’Armes  and avenue Saint-Charles each day from 09:00 until 13:00.
