DESCRIPTION:Following the first part\, entitled Démarche d’un poète (Approach of a poet\, act) with reference to Jean Cocteau’s key work\, the second part (Act II) completes the introduction of this approach by integrating Jean Cocteau’s passionate links with stage. \nJean Cocteau\, always in avant-gardes\, is looking for a modern and popular theater mixing tragedy\, comedy\, vaudeville and boulevard. He thus participates actively in the operation of destruction of the classical and academic heritage following the First World War\, by a frenzied mixture of genres\, including the noble genres (ballet\, theater) and popular\, including jazz\, cinema\, the circus and the music hall\, for which he has a sincere and well-informed taste. \nThis new course gives way to the crazy and sparkling comedy with The Parade and The Married of the Eiffel Tower\, but also tragedy\, dance and multiple artistic collaborations.

DESCRIPTION:Michel Blazy exhibition from Saturday 16 December to Sunday 18 March from 10 am to 6 pm Nouveau Musée National – Villa Sauber. \nThe NMNM presents at the Villa Sauber a new monumental work by Michel Blazy entitled Collection de Chaussures (2015-2017)\, co-produced by the NMNM and the Monaco Cultural Affairs Department for the last edition of the Venice Biennale. Shoe Collection is made up of a metal structure as a frame\, inside which a light source is diffused and water conveyed\, all serving as food for different species of plants growing in 27 pairs of worn sneakers. \nIn two other rooms are presented works by Michel Blazy from the NMNM collections: Peau de Bête (2011) and Nature Molle (2004)\, which will be activated and presented for the first time in Monaco. \nMichel Blazy\, born in Monaco\, has acquired an international reputation thanks to its installations integrating living materials.  \nThroughout the exhibition\, visitors will be able to follow and document the slow transformation of these works in perpetual change.

DESCRIPTION:The Galerie l’Entrepôt presents a series of 81 paintings of different sizes by the artist Antonella Fonzi. Sometimes colored\, sometimes black\, these paintings were created in the ink of China\, as part of his exhibition “Alberi da Viaggio” (“Tree of Travel”). \n“The story of the Alberi da Viaggio is as follows: every tree is a journey.  Trees I saw\, which I dreamed\, touched me. Trees that traveled with me\, which were drawn on sheets of paper\, ready to grow. Sudden ideas marked at the window of a car\, a train\, a pushpush. Flying trees designed by plane\, beloved and caressed trees\, trees keeping secrets. Trees that free thoughts and thoughts\, fragrant trees\, trees that move while remaining motionless (that’s what I love most) trees with improbable hues\, trees with changing hues. SUMMARY:42nd International Circus Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 42nd International Circus Festival will take place from 18 to 28 January 2018. \nThe greatest circus festival in the world. Created by HSH Prince Rainier III\, this festival brings together the most prestigious acts from the world’s great circuses where the highlight is the awarding of the “Clown d’Or”\, considered as the supreme honour for artists in this discipline. \nThe competition will be back for the 42nd Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo\, the Organising Committee\, which had invited the award-winning artists from the previous festivals\, even came up with some new combined acts\, some of which have made circus history! Having won individual awards and in partnership with others\, they remain extraordinary and never to be repeated. \nAs the competition returns for this 42nd edition\, there is an international jury\, under the presidency of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie: their mission is to award the famous Gold\, Silver and Bronze Clowns\, often compared to the Oscars of the film world. The Gold Clown is the festival’s trademark\, conceived when the festival was created by its founder Prince Rainier III of Monaco. From the 19th January\, over 100 artists from 16 countries will perform in the famous Fontvieille ring. \nOn the programme:\n– two exhibitions:\n* At the Marriott Riviera Hotel\, “Croqu’en cirque”\, organised by the Monegasque\nAssociation for the Friends of Circus and showcasing works by Michel Costiou (18th\nJanuary – 4th February);\n* In the Fontvieille shopping centre and Carrefour\, photographs by Alain Hanel (8th\nJanuary – 4th February); \n– a stamp created by the Office des Timbres Poste de Monaco featuring the 42nd Festival’s poster and with a face value of one euro and twenty cents\, which has been on sale since the 3rd January; \n– the traditional shop window competition\, with this year’s theme being “circus animals” and “the 250th anniversary of modern circus”; \n– the European Circus Association and the World Circus Federation meeting on the 18th and 19th January at the Marriott Riviera hotel; \n– the Open Door “Circus Animals” show\, rehearsals with commentary\, on Saturday 20th January from 3pm to 4pm at the Fontvieille big top – free entry \n– the ecumenical service under the big top on Monday 22nd January at 7 pm; \n– the friendly football match between H.S.H. DESCRIPTION:86th Monte-Carlo Rally on from Monday 22 January to Sunday 28 January\, Principauté de Monaco. \nFor the 86th Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo\, the organising committee of the Automobile Club de Monaco has devised a route that is similar to last year with a few new and amended special stages. \nThis year\, the rally will be held a week later than previously\, to ensure there is more snow as well as to give teams greater time to prepare for the event after the end-of-year festivities. \nDetailed overview of an itinerary that should be surprising but still enjoyable for the competitors. \nIn 2018\, we will see the return of the new WRC cars introduced last year and improved over the last 12 months\, as well as the introduction of new cars in lower categories. Look out for the new Citroën C3R5\, the Hyundai i20R5 and perhaps the Toyota Yaris R5. \nOver 395km of Special Stages (SS) await the competitors\, on roads through the Alps\, Isere and the Drôme. The first car will leave Casino Square in the Principality at 6:00pm on Thursday\, 25 January\, heading towards Thoard to drive the 36.58km SS to Sisteron. Cars will then arrive in Bayons for the second SS\, a 25.49 km drive to Bréziers before arriving at the Service Park in Gap from 11:56pm and adjourning to the Parc Fermé. \nFriday\, 26 January will be the longest day\, with 151.19km of Special Stages to get through from 8:51am: SS 3/6 “Vitrolles-Oze” (26.72km)\, with 3 mountain passes\, SS 4/7 “Roussieux-Eygalayes” (33.67km)\, crossing the Col St Jean and SS 5/8 “Vaumeilh-Claret” (15.18km) across a long sinuous plateau\, are new and should provide plenty of surprises. The first car is expected to arrive in Gap that evening around 6:00pm. \nOn Sunday\, 28 January\, the 60 leading cars will loop through 2 SS twice: SS 14/16 “La Bollène Vésubie-Peira Cava” (18.41km)\, identical to 2017\, and SS 15/17 “La Cabanette-Col de Braus” (13.58km)\, an entirely new section which will be the Power Stage for the second loop\, from 12:18pm. Special stages 12 and 17 will be shown live on television. \nPrizes will be awarded to the teams during the traditional Prize-Giving Ceremony\, held at 3:00pm at the Prince’s Palace and a gala dinner\, at 8:30pm\, will be held to close the first leg of the FIA World Rally Championship. \nFor more details on the programme and itineraries\, please check the ACM website. \nSource: www.montecarlosbm.com
