SUMMARY:Exhibition "Espinasse 31" in Monaco
DESCRIPTION:“Espinasse 31” is a pop up exposition at the Miami Plage of Monte Carlo on May 12 – October 10. One year after its opening\, the Milanese residency for artists “Espinasse 31” managed to create a network of interconnections that brought its name and its artists to international recognition. \nAfter participating at Scope Miami and Art Basel\, the gallery lands in Monte Carlo\, in the Bay of Larvotto\, enhancing the amazing beauty of the Miami Plage with the artists’ works\, produced in the residency. \n@www.espinasse31.com\nFrom the 12th of May until the 10th of October a temporary exhibition will be set up. During the event\, the most representative artistic creations of Simone Monte\, who won in 2015 the National Geographic Photo Contest with the photograph “The Game”\, will be exhibited. Other artists showcased are Jenny Perez\, chosen by Giorgio Armani for the presentation in Miami of the Capsule collection st_art\, Rodrigo Branco\, Jotape\, Flavio Rossi\, KayOne\, Rolando Adrian Avila\, Carlos Cesar Alves\, Olga Lomaca\, Daniel Tumolillo and Alex Korolkovas\, winner of the Visual Press Award 2017. \n@www.espinasse31.com\nFor all comic fans\, during the exhibition there will be the works of Alex in plexiglass\, depicting the sensual Valentina\, created by Guido Crepax\, symbol of the contemporary femme fatale. For the first time\, there will be the presentation of the Italian duo Urban Solid\, with their original installations and sculptures in plaster and resin: “For us the third dimension\, with its tactile vocation\, symbolizes a complete visual experience. DESCRIPTION:Exhibition on large-format tarpaulins on the theme of succulent plants by Francis Hallé on Saturday 9 June to Sunday 2 September\, Exotic Garden. \nAs part of this exhibition\, the French botanist\, specializing in tree architecture and plant biology of tropical forests\, proposes his drawings\, reproduced on large format tarpaulins\, on the theme of succulents. DESCRIPTION:Internationally renowned Monegasque sculptor Giuseppe-Francesco Bosio\, better known as François-Joseph Bosio\, was born in Monaco 250 years ago\, on 19 March 1768. \n250 years ago\, on the 19th of March 1768\, Giuseppe Francesco Bosio was born in Monaco\, better known as François-Joseph Bosio\, a Monegasque sculptor who became internationally renowned during his lifetime. At the initiative of the Department of the Interior\, the Prince’s Government wishes to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Monegasque sculptor\, who was honoured with the title of ‘First Sculptor of the King’. \nThe exhibition ‘François-Joseph Bosio\, Monegasque Sculptor’ will take place from the 14th of June until the 14th of October 2018\, in the Palais Princier and will include various archival documents on François-Joseph Bosio and works by the important artist. \nSource: en.monacochannel.mc

SUMMARY:Monte-Carlo Jumping
DESCRIPTION:Nestled at the foot of the Prince’s palatial ramparts\, the 13th edition of the Jumping International of Monte-Carlo promises exceptional moments of sporting emotion. The Jumping International of Monte-Carlo\, one of the main trials in the Longines Global Champions Tour since its creation in 2006\, is a horse jumping event unlike any other — taking place on the waterfront beneath the celebrated Rocher des Princes de Monaco. The setting up of an entire equestrian event in the middle of a busy harbour is a formidable challenge. The waterfront is transformed into a luxurious equine venue\, requiring the hauling in of vast quantities of specialised sand for the competition surface and the transformation of the dock into elegant stabling. \nCharlotte Casiraghi as its patron\, the competition brings together professional and amateur riders from around the world in a highly competitive yet convivial event that has the entire audience on its feet. \nEach Grand Prix is endowed with a purse of € 300\,000\, of which the winner receives € 100\,000. The tour’s eighteen best riders will share a purse of one million euros.

DESCRIPTION:In June 2018 the New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM) will exhibit a series of works by Tom Wesselmann at Villa Paloma. \nFrom Friday 29 June to Thursday 31 January\, from 10 am to 6 pm Nouveau Musée National – Villa Sauber: Tom Wesselmann exhibition – The Promise of Happiness \nNamed The Promise of Happiness\, the exhibition will revolve around the career of this pop art singer\, highlighting his immense contribution to the taboo subject of sexuality. The exhibition takes its title from Stendhal’s celebrated claim that “Beauty is but the promise of happiness.” \nConcentrating on the artist’s portrayal of women\, which has been known to draw fire for its purported objectification\, this exhibition argues for a much more nuanced understanding of the Wesselmann’s rapport with the female subject. Indeed\, through this survey\, a certain sense of female agency will become apparent\, which in itself is symptomatic of a crucial historical shift from Victorian repression to the abundance associated with postwar American consumerism\, as both are described and quite literally embodied in Wesselmann’s work. Long considered one of the key American Pop artists as well as one of its great formal innovators\, Wesselmann’s specific critical contribution to the movement has been a subject of debate for decades. This survey intends to clarify this debate\, locating his prodigious and penetrating contribution to the taboo subject of sexuality\, portrayals thereof\, and its inseparable link with the boundless promise conveyed by the cultural\, material and economic bounty of postwar American society.   \nSource: www.e-flux.com \n
