SUMMARY:113th edition of the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters
DESCRIPTION:This year sees the 113th edition of the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters from Saturday 13 April to Sunday 21 April\, Monte-Carlo Country Club. \nThe Rolex Monte Carlo Masters is one of the oldest tournaments in world tennis. Previously known as the “Monte Carlo Tennis Championship”\, the famous competition on clay was created in 1897. It is now part of the Masters 1000\, a category of events organised by the ATP that includes nine tournaments staged annually in Europe\, North America and Asia. \nThis year’s tournament will be launched by Rafael Nadal\, the reigning champion\, in the gardens of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. For the first time\, the event will be broadcast live on la Monaco-Info and on the channel’s Facebook page. \nUnlike other tournaments in this category\, the thirty top players in the world are not obligated to take part in the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. However\, most of the top players are involved. The full list of competitors will be published on 23 March. \nOn Friday 19 April at 8.30 pm\, the ‘Grand Night of Tennis’ gala will take place at the iconic Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo. \nSource: www.visitmonaco.com

SUMMARY:Ettore Spalletti at the NMNM\, pure colour
DESCRIPTION:A pure\, intense and powerful exhibition of colour. The NMNM (New National Museum of Monaco) at Villa Paloma is exhibiting one of the major artists of Italian minimalism\, Ettore Spalletti. One would think that his art is suggestive of the Arte Povera even if there is no metaphysical recourse to objects and no claim of a militant attitude. \nLargely exhibited in Europe and around the world\, at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris or the Guggenheim in New York\, Ettore Spalletti has also represented Italy four times at the Venice Biennale. \n \nFor this artist\, both a painter and a sculptor\, colour comes in an apparent simplicity\, and nakedness\, but there is a sophisticated technique behind it. To create his elegant works\, Ettore Spalletti mixes chalk\, pigment and oil on wooden panels. He keeps renewing it until he obtains these smooth and velvety surfaces in delicate tones opening our mind to the infinite.
