SUMMARY:Ettore Spalletti at the NMNM\, pure colour
DESCRIPTION:A pure\, intense and powerful exhibition of colour. The NMNM (New National Museum of Monaco) at Villa Paloma is exhibiting one of the major artists of Italian minimalism\, Ettore Spalletti. One would think that his art is suggestive of the Arte Povera even if there is no metaphysical recourse to objects and no claim of a militant attitude. \nLargely exhibited in Europe and around the world\, at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris or the Guggenheim in New York\, Ettore Spalletti has also represented Italy four times at the Venice Biennale. \n \nFor this artist\, both a painter and a sculptor\, colour comes in an apparent simplicity\, and nakedness\, but there is a sophisticated technique behind it. To create his elegant works\, Ettore Spalletti mixes chalk\, pigment and oil on wooden panels. He keeps renewing it until he obtains these smooth and velvety surfaces in delicate tones opening our mind to the infinite.

An exhibition of forty works\, including both important new creations and some of the artist’s historic pieces\, has been specially put together for the Villa Paloma. \nThe project is presented as part of a programme of exhibitions dedicated to artists including Thomas Schütte\, Richard Artschwager\, Erik Boulatov\, Mike Nelson\, and Alfredo Volpi\, who developed their own research\, independently of artistic trends and movements\, completely focused on the fusion of the arts and the concrete experience of space. \nA 90 minute documentary about Ettore Spalletti\, written and directed by Alessandra Galletta with the participation of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco\, produced by the independent Milan-based company LAGALLA23 Productions\, will also have its international première.

Born on 10 October 1813 near Parma\, Italy\, Verdi’s precocious talent earned him a growing reputation from a very young age. William Shakespeare was one of the composer’s most important references. Otello and Falstaff were Giuseppe Verdi’s final two works. He died in Milan on 27 January 1901.

DESCRIPTION:Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is arranging a preview of their brand new tour “The Odyssey of Marine Turtles”on April 25 at 11:30 am. \nFrom their life cycle to the threats that weigh on their existence\, from the magic of spawning to the actions carried out for their preservation\, the great adventure of turtles is told in a new permanent space of 550m2 open-air\, made in the extension of the Museum. At the heart of this new space\, the Monaco Marine Species Care Center (CMSEM) allows the management of sick or injured specimens. High point of the course\, a rehabilitation pool of 160m3 to accommodate turtles treated before their return to the sea. \nTo accompany this launch\, the theme “turtles” continues in the Museum through a temporary exhibition combining art\, educational activities for the youngest\, scientific collections and natural history. \n \nAnd to the general public “The Odyssey of Marine Turtles” will open its doors on April 27\, as part of the 1st edition of the “Festival of the Museum”.

DESCRIPTION:From 25 to 28 April 2019\, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will present Corpus\, a programme of two creations that highlight ensemble movements by mobilising virtually all Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo’s fifty dancers. \nBoth Jean-Christophe Maillot and Goyo Montero worked around a common theme: the group\, for the purpose of showing how choreography featuring large-scale tableaux vivants can harmoniously unite the many personalities necessarily making up a ballet company. \nGoyo Montero’s response\, Ātman\, is characterised by profound spirituality inspired by the concept of ‘self-unified with all’ in Hindu philosophy. The choreographer from Madrid plunges the audience into a reflexion on the individual confronted with the many numbers in society. He transposes this situation to apply it to the company while seeking to achieve maximum fluidity and the fairest balance among the dancers. \nWith Core Meu\, Jean-Christophe Maillot offers highly charged group dancing in which each dancer rushing headlong into a feverish Tarentella. With its energy and generosity\, this creation shows how dance can sparkle collectively without\, however\, negating individuals. This is the very essence of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo\, a company marked by a hierarchy that aims to provide artistic nourishment for each dancer.
