SUMMARY:Ettore Spalletti at the NMNM\, pure colour
DESCRIPTION:A pure\, intense and powerful exhibition of colour. The NMNM (New National Museum of Monaco) at Villa Paloma is exhibiting one of the major artists of Italian minimalism\, Ettore Spalletti. One would think that his art is suggestive of the Arte Povera even if there is no metaphysical recourse to objects and no claim of a militant attitude. \nLargely exhibited in Europe and around the world\, at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris or the Guggenheim in New York\, Ettore Spalletti has also represented Italy four times at the Venice Biennale. \n \nFor this artist\, both a painter and a sculptor\, colour comes in an apparent simplicity\, and nakedness\, but there is a sophisticated technique behind it. To create his elegant works\, Ettore Spalletti mixes chalk\, pigment and oil on wooden panels. He keeps renewing it until he obtains these smooth and velvety surfaces in delicate tones opening our mind to the infinite.

DESCRIPTION:“Ombre d’azur\, transparence” (“Shadow of azure\, transparency”)\, a project by Ettore Spalletti from Thursday 18 April to Sunday 3 November 2019\, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma. \nThe Nouveau Musée National de Monaco presents a new project by Italian painter and sculptor Ettore Spalletti. An exhibition of forty works\, including both important new creations and some of the artist’s historic pieces\, has been specially put together for the Villa Paloma. \nThe project is presented as part of a programme of exhibitions dedicated to artists including Thomas Schütte\, Richard Artschwager\, Erik Boulatov\, Mike Nelson\, and Alfredo Volpi\, who developed their own research\, independently of artistic trends and movements\, completely focused on the fusion of the arts and the concrete experience of space. \nA 90 minute documentary about Ettore Spalletti\, written and directed by Alessandra Galletta with the participation of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco\, produced by the independent Milan-based company LAGALLA23 Productions\, will also have its international première.

SUMMARY:2019 Monegasque Language Competition
DESCRIPTION:The written exams for the Monegasque Language Competition will take place in early May in the Auditorium of the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco. On Tuesday\, May 7\, from 8:30 to 11:00\, it is the students of the 3rd\, 2nd and Terminale classes who will open the debates before leaving the place to the pupils of the 4th classes from 14h to 16h30. The next day\, on Wednesday\, May 8\, it will be the turn of the written tests. \nFor classes 7\, 6 and 5\, written tests are scheduled directly in primary schools and colleges. \nIn total\, this year 1\,241 students will participate in the competition. \nThen\, the second part of the 2019 Monegasque Language Contest\, the oral tests. These will take place in the Council Chamber of the Monaco City Hall on Monday 3\, Tuesday 4 and Thursday 6 June from 8.30 am to 4 pm and on Wednesday 5 June from 8.30 am to 12 pm. \nThe prize-giving ceremony for the 2019 Monegasque Language Competition will take place on Monday\, June 17 in the Cour d’Honneur of the Monaco City Hall.

DESCRIPTION:On May 9th\, a special evening dedicated to one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century\, a prelude to the big summer exhibition in Monaco \nAs part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the artist’s death (1904-1989)\, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is hosting a grand evening dedicated to Salvador Dali on Thursday May 9th\, at 6:30 P.M. This evening\, open to everyone\, is sure to delight art lovers and\, most of all\, the devotees of the “revered giant.” \nTo start\, Montse Aguer\, the Director of the Dali Museums and curator of the exhibition\, will showcase the highlights of the Grimaldi Forum’s summer event: “Dali\, a History of Painting\,” which will open its doors from July 6th to September 8th\, 2019. Through the presentation of some of the hundreds of works (paintings\, drawings and photographs) exhibited this summer\, the audience will be able to discover the various stages of the artist’s creative process and recognize the imprint of the various painters who influenced him\, and to whom Salvador Dali paid tribute. This unprecedented exhibition not only offers a retrospective view of Dali’s work\, but also reveals how the painter crafted his own place in the history of 20th century painting. \nThanks to the support of the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation\, next will come the screening of a 2017 documentary film directed by David Pujol and written by Montse Aguer. “The Secret Life of Portlligat” is a must-see documentary to understand the life and work of Salvador Dali\, his house\, his workshop and his surroundings. It received the Best Feature Film Award at the Fine Arts Film Festival (FAFF) in California. \nEvening of May 9th\, 2019 at 18:30.
