DESCRIPTION:As part of its ambition to make the Principality a centre of excellence and innovation for luxury yachting\, the Yacht Club de Monaco is maintaining the events it usually organises during the Monaco Yacht Show. The result is a three-day (September 21-23) Monaco: Capital of Yachting Experience\, an initiative organised in consultation with Monaco Yacht Show organisers and all the Monegasque entities mobilised to put on a bespoke programme\, under the aegis of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation\, for Planetary Health Week. \nHighlights include:\n\nMeeting and screening of a film by Mike Horn\, Monday 21st September at 9.00pm\n\nFormat: in person only \nAccess: by registration only – monacocapitaleyachting@ycm.org \nSouth African explorer Mike Horn\, who has witnessed at first hand the state of our planet\, will present an exclusive screening of the first rushes from the film made this summer following his last expedition to the Arctic\, where Swiss sailor Bernard Stamm accompanied him sailing on the icy continent. During the two-month voyage\, the adventurer was able to approach wildlife that had become more accessible in this post-Covid period. \n\nCaptains Forum: Yachting and Covid-19\, Tuesday 22nd September at 10.30am\n\nFormat: in person and remote (Zoom or similar) \nAccess: by registration only – monacocapitaleyachting@ycm.org \nHow is yachting navigating this health crisis? Which sectors are most affected and which are coping? The idea is to present the opportunities hydrogen offers as a carbon-free energy vehicle to achieve the emission reduction objectives that underpin the work of the Superyacht Eco Association (SEA) and development of its Index. \nIt is a hot topic\, as the European Commission recently unveiled its plan to boost hydrogen production in the EU as part of its strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. DESCRIPTION:Exhibition by Pierre Le-Tan\, painter\, illustrator and decorative artist from Wednesday 23 September to Sunday 25 October 2020\, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma.\n\n\nPainter\, designer\, illustrator\, decorator\, Pierre Le-Tan is the creator of numerous magazine covers and literary works. He is also the author of a collection of poems and albums\, drawings for advertising\, objects and other interior decors or film sets. \nExposure at the age of 19 by the magazine “The New Yorker” which published two of his drawings on the cover\, enabled him to multiply his collaborations with numerous magazines\, publishing houses and authors such as Patrick Modiano from 1981.\nHe also designed advertisements for Galeries Lafayette\, Suez\, Gucci\, Lanvin…\nIn 2004\, the National Museum of Modern Art in Madrid dedicated a retrospective to him. \nPierre Le-Tan was a great collector nostalgic for a past that fascinated him. As a child\, he often stayed on the French Riviera; in Nice in particular\, where his father\, the Vietnamese painter Lê Phổ\, son of the Viceroy of Tonkin\, had himself lived in the late 1930s and acquired a second home in the 1960s. He delivered his “old-fashioned memories” in an exhibition at the gallery 11 Columbia\, avenue Princesse Grace\, in Monaco\, in 2011\, from which these three drawings were acquired by the NMNM. \n\n\nSource: www.nmnm.mc

These different stages of production – the selection and preparation of clay\, the shaping\, the finishing\, the decoration\, the cooking and the enamelling – reveal\, also\, the « recipes » and the almost alchemic preparations which vary from one creator/inventor to the other.

SUMMARY:Joan Miró at Nouveau Musée National Monaco
DESCRIPTION:La Peinture au défi\, an exhibition encompassing 65 works of Joan Miró at Nouveau Musée National Monaco\, Villa Paloma is presented from 23 September to 25 October. \nThe exhibition is a return for Miró to Monte-Carlo where he worked on Diaghilev’s 1932 Ballets Russes\, the Jeux d` Enfants.
