DESCRIPTION:Exhibition on the theme “Unstable Artifices: Ceramics Stories” is from Wednesday 23 September 2020 to Sunday 31 January 2021\, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Sauber. \nThe exhibition Artifices instables\, Stories of ceramics will present a journey through inventions and experiments highlighting the diversity of shapes and decorations of ceramics\, as well as its production processes. These different stages of production – the selection and preparation of clay\, the shaping\, the finishing\, the decoration\, the cooking and the enamelling – reveal\, also\, the « recipes » and the almost alchemic preparations which vary from one creator/inventor to the other.

SUMMARY:Exhibition of Michel Aubéry in the Oceanographic Museum
DESCRIPTION:As part of its program of actions to raise awareness and support the protection of coral reefs\, the Oceanographic Museum exhibits for the third time the Monegasque artist Michel Aubéry\, from November 4\, 2020 to February 3\, 2021. \nAnd in this year 2020 dedicated to coral\, Michel Aubéry was inspired by coral reefs and the animals that live there. \nNearly 40 works are exhibited in the conference room of the Oceanographic Museum\, including 20 for the first time. All are devoted to the marine world\, the artist’s favorite subject. At the request of the Oceanographic Museum\, he agreed to focus on the reef world to create new works in shimmering colors.

SUMMARY:Saint Devota Festival Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:The young saint was martyred around the year 304 in Corsica\, in the town of Lucciana (which has been twinned with Monaco since 2008). It is said that her body was placed on a boat by fishermen\, and washed ashore in Monaco on 27 January. \nThe saint has always been celebrated by Monegasques\, closely linked to Monaco and its Princes\, and her image appears in every church in the Principality\, and on the currency. She is the protective spirit of the Monegasque identity\, whose relics were prayed to in joy and suffering. The first book written in Monegasque by the great poet Louis Notari was naturally titled “A Legenda de Santa Devota”. \nEvery year\, the feast of Saint Devota is celebrated joyfully. The festivities begin on the morning of 26 January\, at the Church of Saint Devota\, with the Mass of the Traditions pronounced in the Monegasque language. \nIn the early evening\, the Procession of Saint Devota takes place at the Port\, followed by the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church of Saint Devota\,  in the presence of the Principality’s most senior personalities. A member of the Communal Council hands the clergy the relics of the Saint brought in by sea. \nAfterwards\, a symbolic boat is burned in memory of Saint Devota\, by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and the Princely Family. After the burning\, there is a firework display at the Port of Monaco\, organised by the Mayor of Monaco. \nOn the morning of 27 January\, a Pontifical High Mass is usually celebrated at the Cathedral by Monsignor the Archbishop of Monaco\, in the presence of the Sovereign Prince\, followed by a solemn procession on the Rock (blessing of the Palace\, the City and the Sea). \nCelebrations of the Holy Devote:\nTuesday January 26\, 2021 \n10:30 am Sainte Dévote Church: traditional mass\, in the Monegasque language. Blessing of the sea. \n5 p.m. Free entry for the public Quai Albert 1er (Seating places) \n5.15 p.m. Departure of the boat and arrival in the Vallon des Gaumates. Flight of the Dove. Delivery of relics and blessing of the city (with the presence of the Prince’s Carabinieri). Arrival of the relics at the Sainte Dévote Church. \n5:30 p.m. Sainte Dévote Church: Hail of the Blessed Sacrament\, chaired by His Exc. Mgr Dominique-Marie David\, Archbishop of Monaco in the presence of HSH Prince Prince Albert II and the Princely Family. \n6:00 p.m. Quai Albert 1er Côté Nord: Burning of the Symbolic Barque by the Princely Family. At the end\, due to sanitary measures\, it will not be possible to harvest the traditional nails from the boat. \nWednesday January 27\, 2021 \n9.50 a.m. Cathedral: reception of the Relics by Members of the Clergy and the Venerable Archconfraternity of Mercy. \n10:00 a.m. Cathedral: Pontifical Mass presided over by H.E. Mgr Dominique-Marie David Archbishop of Monaco (Free entry within the limit of the 200 places that are available) \n11:15 am Parvis de la Cathédrale: Blessing of the sea and the city.

SUMMARY:“Together for Thalas” charitable event and cocktail party
DESCRIPTION:The “Together for Thalas” charitable event and cocktail party\, under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II\, will be held on 26 January at 6:30pm at the Riva tunnel. It will consist of a charity sale of works and collectibles donated to the association (by the Sovereign Himself as well as Marcos Marin\, Pierre Frolla\, Mr One Teas and many others). The event has already commenced online since 1 December 2020\, and donors can currently bid on items to support the Thalas expedition. \nThe Thalas expedition will take one family around the globe to over 800 schools in 35 countries to spread a message of ocean protection. At the start of 2020 and after years of preparation\, everything was organized for the family of four\, who call themselves ‘Thalas’ (Thomas\, Audrey\, Louise and Anna\, or TH-A-L-A  S) to commence their journey around the world on a catamaran.
