SUMMARY:Exhibition “Conquêtes Pacifiques\, les extensions en mer à Monaco”
DESCRIPTION:The Direction des Affaires Culturelles is organising an exhibition entitled “Conquêtes Pacifiques\, les extensions en mer à Monaco”\, from 15 October 2021 to 2 January 2022\, at the Salle d’exposition du Quai Antoine Ier. \nThe new exhibition was inspired by the donation of a private collection of photographs depicting land reclamation projects. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition invites visitors to explore these geopolitical\, social\, urban\, technical\, and ecological adventures – in short\, the human stories upon which Monegasque culture is built. To that end\, it brings together a large collection of cartographical\, photographic\, and audiovisual archives\, along with various plans and models. In addition\, the exhibition’s organisers interviewed a number of the people behind these land reclamation projects\, and those who use these new living spaces today\, to get their personal impressions.

SUMMARY:The Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival: Jamie Cullum
DESCRIPTION:On November 24th\, Jamie Cullum is waiting for you at the Opera Garnier Monte-Carlo for a completely jazz night and much more… \nOn the release of his latest album ‘Taller’ Jamie Cullum said: “My music is fundamentally that of a jazz fan!” In fact\, at barely twenty\, the artist scandalized the jazz world\, jostling a selection of nuggets from the “Great American Song Book” with his youthful ardor to give a decidedly “pop jazz” version. Forty years old now\, a handful of gold records and Grammy Awards in his pocket\, Jamie Cullum is definitely part of the great family of vocal jazz and no one would question his legitimacy. Still with the same enthusiasm\, but rich in a maturity that extends to his phrasing and his increasingly assertive talents as a composer\, Jamie Cullum continues to portray his vision of jazz. In 2004\, he participated in the soundtrack of the Bridget Jones film by covering the song “Everlasting Love”. In 2008\, he composed ballad Gran Torino\, for the film of the same name by Clint Eastwood. After the first Monegasque Red Cross Summer Concert last July\, the artist returns to Monaco on the stage of the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo. \nWednesday 24 November 8:30 pm €85 \n@SBM
