SUMMARY:The “Polar Mission” exhibition at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
DESCRIPTION:The Oceanographic Museum’s new Polar Mission exhibition is currently open and taking visitors on an epic journey from the North pole to the South pole. The new exhibition kicked off on 4 June and covers five exciting themes spread over two levels. From wildlife\, to explorers\, to artefacts\, to immersive technology\, the exhibition is chance to feel like you’re voyaging to the world’s chilliest landscapes at opposite ends of the globe. \nThe Polar Mission Exhibition at the Oceanographic Museum will be on display for the next two years. Entrance to the exhibition is included in a regular ticket to the Oceanographic Museum (€18.00 for adults and €18.00 for children aged 4-17 years). The Museum is open every day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time\, to the very earliest days of colour television. Organised by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco\, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for safekeeping\, documents from partner institutions\, and materials kindly loaned by private individuals.

SUMMARY:Pasolini in Chiaroscuro Exhibition in Villa Sauber
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Sauber (from March 29 till September 29) looks at the influence of classical and contemporary painting on the films of Pier Paolo Pasolini . “Pasolini in Chiaroscuro” brings together a variety of work\, including film clips\, paintings\, drawings\, installations and photography from the 16th century to today. It finishes with works by other artists who paid tribute to Pasolini.

SUMMARY:Exhibition: “The Ice Giants”
DESCRIPTION:Polar bears and emperor penguins are the protagonists of the new exhibition “The Ice Giants” by Michel Bassompierre organized from Wednesday April 10 to Sunday October 6\, 2024 in Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. Seven monumental works will take over the Oceanographic Museum and its roof terrace. On this occasion\, the sculptor will unveil five new creations: four polar bears as well as a 3-meter-high emperor penguin. Original drawings and sketches will also be exhibited accompanied by the screening of a film presenting the artist’s work. This temporary exhibition is part of the Polar Mission program run by the Oceanographic Institute since 2022.

DESCRIPTION:Exhibition: “Lascaux in Monaco” welcomes visitors from Friday 19 April to Thursday 21 November 2024\, in Musée d’Anthropologie Préhistorique. \nThis exhibition features an original scenography with replicas and an immersive virtual reality experience courtesy of #SPL LASCAUX\, all made possible by the Museum’s partners. Visitors can see original items from the Lascaux caves\, loaned by the National Prehistory Museum (Les Eyzies\, Dordogne) and the Institute of Human Palaeontology (Paris)\, plus ultra-realistic replicas of the five Cro-Magnons by Elisabeth Daynes\, a 1:10 scale model of the Lascaux cave complete with prehistoric paintings and lighting\, and low-tech interactive tables and exhibits.

DESCRIPTION:Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo: “TO THE POINT(E)” will be on stage of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco from Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27 April at 7.30 pm\, and Sunday 28 April 2024 at 3 pm. \nLa Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo continues its season with TO THE POINT(E) by Wheeldon – Maillot – Eyal. A trio of pieces for a unique evening of dance: “To the Point(e)”. Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will perform three works\, each of which calls upon the classically trained dancers to explore every ounce of their potential\, yet always with a nod to the contemporary. Over the course of the evening\, the audience will experience Christopher Wheeldon’s ‘Within the Golden Hour’\, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s ‘Vers un Pays Sage’\, and ‘Autodance’ by Sharon Eyal.
