DESCRIPTION:Exhibition: “The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo\, 1954-1974​” is held from Monday 25 March 2024 to Friday 31 January 2025\, from 10 am to 5.30 pm (5 pm on Fridays)\, in Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco. \nThis exhibition is looking at the first 20 years of Monaco’s TV channel launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time\, to the very earliest days of colour television. Organised by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco\, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for safekeeping\, documents from partner institutions\, and materials kindly loaned by private individuals.

SUMMARY:Christmas Nativity Trail
DESCRIPTION:Christmas Nativity Trail is organized from Friday 8 December 2024 to Monday 6 January 2025 in Monaco-Ville. \nOn the wishes of HSH the Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco\, the Principality’s Nativity Trail was founded in 2014 in Monaco’s Old Town\, to bring festive Christmas cheer and convey the culture and values embodied by nativity scenes from every continent. Each year\, nativity scenes are displayed all along the trail\, set up in specially installed chalets and in the various State buildings in the Old Town district. \nEntering via the Major Ramp will allow you to participate in a large interactive game and extensions of the Path will lead you through the alleys of the Rocher. \nThe Chalet will house a symphony of blue and white nativity scenes that will set a bright tone for the visit of the path that will go around the square\, from the green space behind “the Malizia” to the Terrace of the Carabiniers and up to the large chalet under the pines of the Place du Palais. \nThe Grand Chalet will exhibit about fifteen nativity scenes in homage to the African continent and Madagascar.

SUMMARY:Second edition of the Sports Village in Monaco
DESCRIPTION:Following the great success of the last year\, the second edition of the Sports Village will be held from Friday 20 December to Sunday 5 January 2025 on the southern dock of Port Hercule\, in addition to the Christmas Village. \nComposed of 3 obstacle courses\, inspired by the famous TV game show “Ninja Warrior”\,  a treetop adventure course and a climbing structure\, this fun and sporting activity area will appeal to apprentice ninjas\, aged 3 and over. \nAnd for the second consecutive year\, a 180-metre-long zip line will allow the most daring of them to fly over the Route de la Piscine from the highest diving board of the swimming pool of the Stade Nautique Rainier III.

SUMMARY:Exhibition of Francisco Tropa – Paesine in Villa Paloma
DESCRIPTION:The NMNM presents a monographic exhibition by Portuguese artist Francisco Tropa\, specially conceived for the Villa Paloma and featuring a previously unseen selection of sculptures\, drawings\, films and light projections. \nThe exhibition takes its names from pietre paesine (imaged stones)\, whose geological designs are evocative of painted landscapes\, on the boundary of figuration and abstraction. This idea of an analogy between nature and technique is at the heart of Francisco Tropa’s work\, which focuses on the conditions of appearance and perception of an image. \nAt Villa Paloma\, just a few yards from the famous “Observatory cave” that was occupied in the Palaeolithic period\, Tropa seeks with humour and delicacy to reinterpret the origins of sculpture and its formal vocabulary\, borrowing from prehistoric Venuses and classical Pietà\, all the way up to minimalist works from the last century. Through a form of “anarchaeology”\, it obliterates any attempt to create a historical account and deconstructs  the very space of the museum itself\, turning it (back) into a platonic cave. \nPresented with ambiguous materials and images of unfathomable depth\, the spectator is invited to a total experience of sculpture\, from its material forms to its symbolic projections.
