DESCRIPTION:Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series (Act III) is held from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 February 2025 in the Bay of Monaco. \nThe Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series is a series of regattas organised by Yacht Club de Monaco since 2013. Primarily dedicated to the J/70 class\, the series provides crews with competitive training in winter on one of the most consistent sailing venues in the Mediterranean. The event has become a reference for preparing for major one design competitions\, particularly the Primo Cup-UBS Trophy\, the final event in the series. \nSeduced by this format\, over 350 sailors from all over Europe set up their winter training base in the Principality\, to prepare for the major events of the coming season. \n\n\n\n\n\nIt has proved a very successful format with more than 350 sailors coming from across Europe to set up their winter training base in the Principality to prepare for the upcoming season’s big meetings. \n\nAct I :6-9 November 2025\nAct II : 4-7 December 2025\nAct III : 12-15 February 2026 \nAct IV : 5-8  March 2026  Primo Cup – UBS Trophy

DESCRIPTION:Every year\, thanks to Saint Valentine\, ladies receive bouquets of flowers\, chocolates\, cards\, and some lucky ones even get jewelry and marriage proposals. We are all excited for the Valentine’s Day. However\, many of us have never thought about the origins of St. Valentine\, giving us our little happiness. \nThe history of the celebration goes back to the Roman times and doesn’t happen to be romantic in any way. The Catholic Church recognizes three saints named Valentine\, who were martyred in the name of their faith. However\, none of them has anything to do with patronizing the beloved. After the reform of the Roman Catholic Saints calendar in 1969\, the church celebration of St. Valentine’s was abolished due to the absence of any information about this martyr. The Roman Catholic Church does not perform any special service on the day. It is believed to be more of a folk tradition rather than a religious celebration. \nWe owe our romantic stories and legends about unfortunate lovers to the medieval authors. That is when the Valentine’s Day starts to be perceived in its modern conception. According to one legend\, Valentine was a priest who lived during the reign of the evil Emperor Claudius II. The latter banned all wedding ceremonies not to burden his soldiers with family duties. He believed that unmarried men were the best warriors. Valentine\, compassionate with the lovers\, was secretly consecrating these marriages. The authorities soon learned about his “illegal” activities and sentenced the priest to death.

The event features a series of foot races through the streets of the Principality. SUMMARY:Cecilia & Plácido Recital
DESCRIPTION:Mezzo-Soprano Cecilia Bartoli & Baryton Plácido Domingo Recital will be held on Saturday 14 February 2026 at 8 pm in Opéra de Monte-Carlo. \nCecilia Bartoli and Plácido Domingo first met in New York\, where they each performed regularly to enthusiastic audiences. In 1994\, they recorded Mozart’s Idomeneo together for Deutsche Grammophon\, accompanied by the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Since then\, their paths have crossed frequently. \nWithin their extensive respective repertoires\, Cecilia and Plácido share a particular affinity for Mozart\, Rossini\, and Vivaldi. And although Puccini operas\, often performed by Plácido\, are not among those in which we usually hear Cecilia sing\, it was in Tosca that she made her first public solo appearance as a child. This work is set in Rome\, his hometown\, which is also the setting for the film Tosca\, in which Plácido filmed in authentic sets recreating the era of Puccini’s opera – a striking coincidence! \nIn 2023\, on the stage of the Palais Garnier\, Plácido Domingo paid tribute to Cecilia Bartoli\, then recently appointed director of the Monte-Carlo Opera. Together\, and accompanied by other enthusiastic artists\, they presented a lyrical epic that will long remain in the memories of those fortunate enough to have witnessed it. \nTrue to their Mediterranean warmth\, their musical versatility\, and their captivating charisma\, Cecilia and Plácido now offer a more intimate format celebrating their Latin heritage. For these musical pieces\, they will be subtly accompanied by the French pianist David Fray\, who shares with them a great love for Italy and Spain.
