From Greenland and Namibia to the Atacama Desert and Madagascar\, his journeys across the globe reflect an enduring pursuit of authenticity and emotion. Yet it is in Japan that he discovered a deeply personal connection. \nThrough his lens\, he captures the quiet stillness of temples\, the precision of time-honoured gestures and the vibrant energy of sprawling metropolises. His work reveals a multifaceted Japan – at once ancient and ultra-modern\, contemplative and electric. More than a travelogue\, his photographs become fragments of memory: suspended moments that invite reflection on our own relationship with time\, balance and harmony. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“I’m not sure whether photography led me to travel\, or whether my love of travel inspired me to capture these unique moments\,” he explains. “Japan has become a country close to my heart. DESCRIPTION:Monaco Philosophical Encounters: Saying Thank You\, Why? organized by Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco on Wednesday 1 April 2026 at 2.30 pm in Caroline Media Library. \nWhat is a philosophy workshop?\nIt’s a discussion among teenagers\, but not just any discussion. Starting with an idea\, a concept\, or sometimes even a film or a work of art\, participants debate big philosophical questions. In a philosophy workshop\, there isn’t just one “right answer”: everyone searches\, argues\, listens to others\, and shares their own ideas. These exchanges are often fascinating\, especially since at this age\, the desire grows to question what is taken for granted and to confront the ideas one has received in order to think differently. \nWhy Say Thank You?\nWe often say thank you without thinking. Both commonplace and precious\, this little word is uttered several times a day and hundreds of times a year. \nWe say it because we’ve been taught to and because it’s polite. But is saying thank you simply following a rule? Of course\, we say it even more sincerely when we’ve received something. So\, does our “thank you” depend on the gift received or the help given? And if we haven’t received anything\, can we still say thank you? \nIn this workshop\, children will reflect on this curious question: why say thank you?\nIs saying thank you automatic? Is it giving something back in exchange for what we’ve received? Do we feel obligated\, or does saying thank you also bring us something? Can we say thank you to someone who isn’t there\, to life\, to nature… or just “to nothing in particular”? \nA philosophy workshop to explore gratitude\, the connection it allows us to forge with others\, and to discover that saying thank you can sometimes transform our perspective on the world.

DESCRIPTION:A lecture on the theme of Contemporary art and philosophy as seen through the lens of Nicolas Poussin is organized on 1 April 2026 at 6.30 pm in Nouveau Musée National de Monaco. \nAs part of the exhibition “The Feeling for Nature: Contemporary Art in the Mirror of Nicolas Poussin\,” the New National Museum of Monaco and the Monaco Philosophical Encounters are joining forces for a discussion with Ange Leccia\, artist (two of whose works from the museum’s collections are currently on display); Vincent Delecroix\, writer and philosopher\, author of *Poussin\, a Day in Arcadia*\, 2015 (Flammarion); and Fabien Danesi\, art historian and director of the FRAC Corsica. \nAnge Leccia will discuss his artistic approach\, and Vincent Delecroix will present his book and research. Fabien Danesi will then moderate their conversation\, exploring the influence of Nicolas Poussin’s work.
