SUMMARY:Exhibition "Victor Brauner\, The Magical Adventure"
DESCRIPTION:Exhibition “Victor Brauner\, The Magical Adventure” is held from 03 July 2026 to 03 January 2027 in Nouveau Musée National de Monaco\, Villa Paloma. \nFrom 3 July and for six months\, the Nouveau Musée de Monaco dedicates the spaces in the Villa Paloma to a major figure in international Surrealism\, Victor Brauner (1903–1966)\, a singular and special artist in the history of art\, whose remarkable body of work remains to be discovered. For the very first time\, “Victor Brauner\, the Magical Adventure” reveals an exceptional private collection based in Monaco that encompasses the artist’s entire production from the 1920s to the 1960s\, covering painting\, drawing and sculpture. Serving as a counterpoint to more than one hundred and sixty works from this collection\, ten non-Western objets d’art collected by Victor Brauner\, on loan from the musée d’art moderne et contemporain de Saint-Étienne Métropole\, are also on display. \nVictor Brauner’s work is at once original\, erudite\, highly inventive and full of humor. Drawing on his Romanian origins and the Bucharest avant-gardes\, his encounter with André Breton and Surrealism from 1933\, as well as diverse archaic civilizations and mythologies\, he composed a wonderful visual laboratory of metamorphoses that sourced inspiration from his love of esotericism\, ultra-secret dogmas\, the German Romantics and non-Western arts. Bearing witness to an ever-evolving world\, his fascinating\, enigmatic creation moved from autobiography to mystery in a desire to achieve universality. This polymorphous body of work (painting\, drawing\, sculpture\, objects…) is a testament to his abundant construction of objects\, devised by the artist to conjure up his inner universe and the surrounding world. In a bid to cut himself off from reality\, Victor Brauner created legendary worlds in which fantasy and wonder cohabit\, occasionally tinged with irony to escape the barbarity around him or magnified by magic to establish a personal cosmogeny. Despite experiencing the weight of history\, as did other foreign artists in the early part of the century\, Victor Brauner carried on inventing all his life long\, with consummate tenacity and generous originality. \nIn 1941\, Victor Brauner confided: “every drawing and every discovery will be an extraordinary unknown place\, every painting will be an adventure”. \n“Through a unique private collection that presents one of the most singular and spellbinding corpuses of the 20th century\, the exhibition devoted to Victor Brauner in Monaco wishes to share the magic of this great artist with as many people as possible\,” states Camille Morando\, the exhibition curator. \nThe exhibition is accompanied by a catalog published by Hatje Cantz.

SUMMARY:A Wedding in the Spotlight. Rainier III and Grace Kelly. April 12-19\, 1956
DESCRIPTION:A Wedding in the Spotlight. Rainier III and Grace Kelly. April 12-19\, 1956 is organized by Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco from 06 July 2026 to 26 February 2027. \nWhen the marriage of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly in Monaco was announced\, offers to film the event poured in. In February 1956\, from the United States\, the sovereign made his decision: “One film\, and one only\, in color and Cinemascope\, will be produced by the Principality.” \nTo facilitate the work of the approximately 1\,800 journalists who had come from all corners of the globe to cover the “wedding of the century\,” a press house was set up on the Rock. Access to the festivities was strictly controlled\, as the limited space meant that not all participants\, especially photographers\, could be accommodated. Sharing footage was essential. Meanwhile\, Radio Monte-Carlo and Télé Monte-Carlo produced and broadcast the ceremonies via Eurovision to 30 million viewers. Amateur filmmakers were also present: cameras in hand\, they captured the fervor of the entire population. \nMonaco also became a film set\, where Jean Masson and his assistant Jacques Demy worked diligently to shoot and edit\, in record time\, the footage for a color chronicle\, *The Wedding of Monaco*\, produced under “special authorization.” Produced by a Monegasque company\, C.I.T.E.L.\, the film was released in French cinemas on May 2\, 1956\, distributed by Pathé\, while M.G.M. handled its distribution in North America. Having remained unseen since then\, the film has just been restored in a laboratory by the Palace of Monaco and the Audiovisual Institute. \nOn display for visitors to explore\, films\, photographs\, archives\, and equipment retrace the history of this unique production and detail the media strategy behind an event that changed the face of the Principality. \nFrom July 6\, 2026 to February 26\, 2027\nFree admission\nMonday to Friday\, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. on Fridays)

SUMMARY:Lumières sur la Lagune (Lights on the Lagoon)
DESCRIPTION:From September 23 to November 6\, 2026\, coinciding with the Monaco Yacht Show\, the Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery Monaco will present Lumières sur la Lagune (Lights on the Lagoon)\, an exceptional exhibition dedicated to Venetian view painting. Conceived by renowned antiquarian and gallerist Cesare Lampronti\, the show brings together around thirty masterpieces by ten of the most important vedutisti active between the late 17th and 18th centuries. \nFeaturing celebrated artists such as Canaletto\, Bernardo Bellotto\, Michele Marieschi\, and others\, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the evolution of one of Europe’s most fascinating genres. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in Venice at the height of its artistic and cultural splendor\, through a sequence of views where architecture\, water\, light\, and sky interact to create a vivid portrait of the city. \nEach painting reflects a unique vision\, distinguished by perspective\, light\, and atmosphere\, allowing audiences to compare different interpretations of Venice and understand why it became one of the most iconic subjects in Western art. The gathering of works of such quality and provenance is an event of major historical and artistic significance\, underscoring Monaco’s role as a privileged meeting place for high culture\, the art market\, and great collectors.

SUMMARY:Exhibition "Memory of Places"
DESCRIPTION:Until January 24\, 2027\, the Department of Cultural Affairs is presenting an evocative reflection at the Quai Antoine Ier exhibition hall on what remains when buildings vanish\, landscapes transform\, and the city reinvents itself in the exhibition “Memory of Places”\, dedicated to the Principality’s heritage. The exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday\, September 29\, 2026\, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover. \nCurated by Célia Bernasconi\, Director of the Heritage Institute\, the exhibition highlights works that tell the story of the Principality and reflects the Princely Government’s commitment to preserving and passing on Monegasque heritage. \nThrough photographs\, monumental works\, audiovisual installations\, and contemporary creations\, the public is invited to explore Monaco from a new perspective: a city in constant flux\, where artworks\, architecture\, narratives\, and the experiences of its inhabitants form fragments of a living memory. \nThe exhibition design was created as part of the “Décors” program by Louise Chatelain and Théophile Sargenti\, students from Pavillon Bosio. \nFor “Mémoire des lieux” (Memory of Places)\, guest artist Gabriel-Noé Rosticher produced original works—including a new film dedicated to Monaco—that map the Principality through its tunnels\, galleries\, infrastructure\, traffic routes\, and spaces undergoing transformation. \nFree admission from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.\, Tuesday to Sunday.

SUMMARY:Lecture – Pierre Leguillon
DESCRIPTION:Lecture by Pierre Leguillon “Artists’ Homes: The Collection as a Tool”\, organized in partnership with the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco\, will be held on Thursday\, November 5\, 6.30 pm at Bosio Pavilion\, Garden Room. \nPierre Leguillon (born 1969) is a French artist based in Brussels. His multifaceted\, performative practice centers on the production and reproduction of a wide variety of images\, arranged within installations specifically designed for the spaces that house them. For over thirty years\, he has amassed a vast collection of images and objects—without regard for period or genre—housed within his “Musée des Erreurs” (Museum of Errors)\, founded in Brussels in 2013. In doing so\, he embraces the role of an artist-collector. In conjunction with the exhibition “Victor Brauner: The Magical Adventure”—which features works by the Romanian artist\, all drawn from a private collection in Monaco—ten non-Western objects once collected by Victor Brauner are also on display. It is in this context that Pierre Leguillon has been invited to present a range of artists’ collections\, exploring how these artists stage their objects within their own domestic interiors—to the point where the collections merge with their own artworks\, potentially forming a “Gesamtkunstwerk”\, or “total work of art.” Pierre Leguillon will discuss his own “apartment-museum\,” as well as the collections of architects Sir John Soane and Carlo Mollino\, and artists such as Ana Jotta\, Robert Therrien\, David Ireland\, and Carol Rama\, among others. \nPortrait:\nMagdalena Suarez Frimkess\, ceramic tile\, n.d.\, collection of the Musée des Erreurs\, Brussels (gift of Lesley Vance and Ricky Swallow). \nFree admission; you can register by email public@nmnm.mc

SUMMARY:Thursday Live Sessions - Jimmy Gnecco - Ours
DESCRIPTION:Thursday Live Sessions continue with the concert of Jimmy Gnecco – Ours on November 5\, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. apéromix – 8:30 p.m. live performance in Espace Indigo – Grimaldi Forum Monaco. \nA powerful voice and a rare emotional intensity\, effortlessly shifting from alternative rock to dark pop\, with cinematic flourishes. \nA unique figure on the American music scene\, Jimmy Gnecco is the voice and soul of the band OURS\, a group that achieved cult status upon the release of their debut album *Distorted Lullabies*\, now regarded as a classic. \nSince that album\, Jimmy Gnecco has\, alongside OURS\, ceaselessly developed an instantly recognisable sound\, across albums that are nonetheless very different (‘Precious’ in 2002\, ‘Mercy’ in 2008\, ‘Ballet The Boxer’ in 2013\, ‘New Age Heroine’ in 2024\, ‘Rocket’s Red Glare’ in 2025): music distinguished by its demanding composition and rare emotional intensity\, moving effortlessly from alternative rock to dark pop\, with cinematic flourishes. \nAlongside this OURS project\, Jimmy Gnecco released a deeply personal solo album in 2010\, *The Heart*\, in which he laid himself bare with a poignant modesty. \nHaving moved away from the major labels of his early days\, he now crafts his albums entirely on his own\, handling the recording\, mixing\, production and mastering\, whilst playing the vast majority of the instruments featured. He thus embraces a DIY approach that prioritises authenticity\, emotion and natural vocals (without artifice or auto-tune). \nOver the years\, Jimmy Gnecco has collaborated in the studio or shared the stage with many big names in music\, whether renowned producers (Rick Rubin\, Steve Lillywhite\, Ethan Johns\, Tim Palmer\, …) or established artists (Humanist\, Robert De Leo and Stone Temple Pilots\, A-Ha\, Slash and Velvet Revolver\, …). His talent has often been praised by his peers\, including the late Chester Bennington\, who named him one of the three greatest male singers of all time (alongside Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley)\, and Lana Del Rey\, who went so far as to write a song named after him. \nWhether performing with his band OURS or as a solo artist\, Jimmy Gnecco’s live performances always leave a lasting impression on his audience\, who are captivated by his intense and passionate concerts. He doesn’t simply play songs; he shares moments of truth. Each concert thus becomes a space for connection\, where his voice and music serve as a direct link between the artist and his audience. \nFree admission \nBook a table on +377 9999 3000.
