#hello_monaco weekend: what to do on 9 and 10 December

You can start this weekend’s sports section by watching the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series Act III, organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco in Monaco Bay that run all through the weekend.

In line with the YCM’s proactive sailing policy, and initiated for the Melges 20 class in 2013 by Valentin Zavadnikov, then the J/70s, the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series offers a monthly programme alternating high level regattas and training weekends for one designs.

The format has caught on and today some 500 sailors from all over Europe establish their winter training base in the Principality to prepare for the upcoming season’s big meetings.

In the evening there is a game of French Premier League Football Championship: Monaco – Troyes on Saturday 9 December at 8 pm, Stade Louis II.

And on Sunday 10 December in Stade Louis II – Salle Omnisports Gaston Médecin there will be the 24th Monaco International Judo Tournament.

A very ineteresting event of this weekend is Choré-Voix educational project – “No Time’s Land,” a musical offered by the Education Unit of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, organised by Monaco Dance Forum on Friday 8 December and Saturday 9 December, at 8 pm Grimaldi Forum Monaco – Salle Prince Pierre.

Brought to the public by the Ballets de Monte-Carlo’s education department, this show is a part of the ‘Choré-Voix’ project, a multi-disciplinary artistic training programme aimed at teachers. Inspired by the Ballets de Monte-Carlo’s approach to dance, this training programme focuses on the body and gives teachers the tools they need to help students express themselves through movement, choir and theatre. Over the course of 16 months, a troupe comprising 53 teachers and 65 primary- and secondary-school students from the Principality and Nice region meet every week and one weekend a month, coming together around an incredible human and artistic endeavour: creating a musical!

If you are fond of music go to the Great Season Series: concert by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada with Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, piano on Sunday 10 December, at 6 pm Auditorium Rainier III.

On the programme: Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Hector Berlioz. As a prelude to the concert, an introduction to the works at 5 pm by André Peyrègne.

And theater welcomes you with “Me Game” (“Moi jeu”) café theatre by and with Antonia de Rendinger on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December, at 9 pm and Sunday 10 December, at 4.30 pm in Théâtre des Muses.

Of course, when she grows up, little Antonia will be an immmmmense artist, adored around the world! Well yes: from comedy to tragedy, this girl loves to play, sing, speak 8 languages ​​and laugh. So Antonia plays, has fun, flourishes!

Developed from reworked improvisations, this show in unconditional freedom marks a break with the previous ones: it is no longer a story she tells us but ten, which slip like so many pearls on a necklace. The scene becomes a real game room where more than 20 characters meet, from the young mother overwhelmed by the shared custody to the teacher of SVT “old school”, through a tragic Cleopatra.

Tickets range from 17 to 28 euro.

Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit and go to the Christmas village on the theme of “Father Christmas’s Workshops” organised by Monaco City Hall on from Wednesday 6 December to Sunday 7 January, Port de Monaco.

And a reminder: you can race your electric radio-controlled cars on the open-air skating rink, organised by Monaco City Hall, on Sunday December 10, from 8 am to 12 pm.

For the 5th consecutive year, model car enthusiasts can take part in sessions for electric radio-controlled cars. Participants are invited to bring their own vehicle to the skating rink.  The rink will be transformed into a racing track on ice for the occasion.  These sessions will be open to all models of radio-controlled cars, on a scale of 1/12 to 1/5, with electric motors only. Admission is free.
