#hello_monaco weekend: what to do on March 2nd and March 3rd

The long awaited spring is here and cultural life in Monaco is becoming even busier.  So in case you wonder what to do this weekend HelloMonaco selected a few events for you.

SIAM

There are a few large scale events this weekend. Surely you can’t miss SIAM 2019, the first International Motor Show to focus exclusively on ecological and innovative vehicles from 28 February to 3 March 2019 in Monaco. From city cars to the most exclusive models, to unique car concepts, innovative equipment and technologies; the performance, the prestige and the pleasure of driving rhyme more than ever with ecology and mobility. Thanks to the success of the first editions, which brought together more than 35,000 visitors, more than 50 exhibiting brands, and more than 1,000 journalists and influential personalities, the SIAM announces its third edition which marks a major evolution in the Automobile Trade Shows industry focusing exclusively on environmentally friendly and innovative vehicles. Stands, demonstrations, trials and Forum will now be gathered in one place, the legendary Quai Albert I on Port Hercule.

8th Book Fair, a unique chance to come face to face for a chat with authors passionate about writing and steeped in imagination is on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March 2019, from 10.30 am to 6 pm in Salle d’Exposition du Quai Antoine Ier.

A large number of Monegasque, French and Italian authors are expected to be present. This 8th edition reflects the growing popularity of the event, with a change of venue to accommodate more authors and visitors in a more central location in the Principality, with convenient nearby  parking.

The fair will now take place over two full days at the exhibition hall at Quai Antoine 1er, 4 quai Antoine 1er, Monaco. There are two entrances to this magnificent hall, which overlooks Monaco’s Port Hercules.

International Salsa Festival of Monaco

Since its first edition in 2006, the International Salsa Festival of Monaco has grown to become a meeting place for latin dance lovers from all around the world and the people from Monaco. This year it will take place from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 March 2019, Espace Léo Ferré

Salsa, bachata, kizomba, beginner to advanced, novice or just curious, everyone finds his groove at the salsa festival of Monaco. You can access dance lessons for all levels (3 simultaneous rooms), a VIP meal in front of the scene on Saturday night, enjoy quality shows and DJ parties until late at night.

Another both sports and artictic event is Monaco Ice Skating Championships, that will take place on Saturday 2 March 2019, from 10 am to 7.30 pm Stade Nautique Rainier III.

"A Little Hand that Places Itself"

Romantic comedy: “Une petite main qui se place (2e série)” (A Little Hand that Places Itself – Series 2), by Sacha Guitry on Thursday 28 February, at 8.30 pm, Friday 1, Saturday 2 March, at 8.30pm and Sunday 3 March at 4.30 pm Théâtre des Muses.

Also this weekend there are two exceptional concerts by the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus. The first one is the concert of Sacred Music by the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada on Saturday 2 March, at 8.30 pm Eglise Saint-Charles.

On the programme: Toru Takemitsu, Minao Shibata, Stephen Leek, Raymond Murray Schafer and Astor Piazzolla.

And Great Season Series: concert by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada with Isabelle Faust, violin, Antoine Tamestit, viola, Regula Mühlemann, soprano, Jean-François Lapointe, baritone and the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus on Sunday 3 March, at 6 pm, Auditorium Rainier III.

On the programme: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gabriel Fauré. As a prelude to the concert, presentation of the works at 5 pm by André Peyrègne
