No doubt that this weekend two major events, the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, are in the spotlights of Monaco as well as of the entire world.

F1 Grand Prix

Qualifying sessions for the 75th Monaco F1 Grand Prix are running from Thursday 25 May to Saturday 27 May and the final race is on Sunday 28th May 2017. Organized during the Ascension week-end, the legendary Monegasque event will host the 6th round of the 2017 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

Real jewel of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the Grand Prix Automobile de Monaco push every season the best drivers of the world beyond their limits. Pitiless for both men and cars remains the favourite meeting of all fan of motorsport.

The Monaco’s race is still exceptional because of its fabulous background drawn between the sea and the mountains and by its incomparable prestige. The Monegasque event brings together all the ingredients of an extraordinary Grand Prix: glamour, speed and above all exclusiveness.

Finally winner for the second time in the Principality in 2016, the three times world champion Lewis Hamilton will certainly try to catch another win on the rock for the 962th Formula 1 Grand Prix. If he succeeded, the British would rejoin Nico Rosberg his former teammate at Mercedes now retired from the sport, as well as his compatriots Stirling Moss and Jackie Stewart to the prize list with three wins in Monaco. Last but so not least, the Grand Prix weekend will end on a super high note as you get your groove on with Bruno Mars! A huge success on the music scene since his debut, Bruno Mars has had hit after hit, including” Locked Out of Heaven” and “Treasure”.

All profits from this event will go to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, which aims to favour sports as a vector of education and development for children.

But to get the most out of this weekend you really need to figure out how to be in two places at the same time, as in Cannes this weekend the Cannes Film Festival is coming to conclusion. This annual film festival is held in Cannes, France, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.  For almost a week the Jury preview new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the invitation-only festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

This year Spanish film director and screenwriter Pedro Almodóvar has been selected as the President of the Jury for the festival with Italian actress Monica Bellucci hosting the opening and closing ceremonies. Ismael’s Ghosts, directed by French director Arnaud Desplechin, has been selected as the opening film for the festival.
