Strengthening Economic Ties between Monaco and Russia: 3rd MEB Mission in Moscow

The Monaco Economic Board (MEB), coordinated by the Ambassador to Russia HE Mireille Pettiti, organized an economic mission in Moscow, the Russian capital, from 4 to 6 October aimed at continuing bilateral exchanges developed over several years.*

For MEB President Michel Dotta, “this country, which is one of the very few countries with which the MEB has organized so many operations, has to work on a long-term basis… It is clear today that the progress we’ve made so far is important.”

Several networking sessions and information opportunities were offered during the economic follow-up mission to the 20 Monegasque companies present.

A conference on the investment climate in Russia, by the Consul of Monaco in Moscow Igor Yurgens, allowed business leaders of the delegation to update their knowledge of the Russian market and its potential for their economic activities.

The B to B rendezvous with Russian counterparts of the MEB (RSPP, Business Russia and the ICC of Russia) was organized for the first time at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow on the 5th of October: nearly 140 appointments were made between Monegasque and Russian entrepreneurs.

But apart from developing economic exchanges between the two countries, Russian-Monegasque relations as a whole were strengthened. The strong link will continue being developed by the Ambassador of Monaco in Russia.

On the sidelines of the economic session, entrepreneurs were able to attend one of two exceptional performances by the Ballets de Monte-Carlo at the Bolshoi, a major cultural event that served as a catalyst for the programming of the ‘Monaco Days’.

Like the MEB, the CHPG and the Tourism and Congress Departments also took part in the Monaco Days by organizing evenings, on October 3rd and 4th respectively, at the Monaco Princess Grace Check-up Unit and Tourism in the Principality.

The next step for the MEB will be to host a Russian delegation in the Principality in the first quarter of 2018, which will help, in collaboration with Ambassador Pettiti, to continue the momentum created by the mission in Moscow.
