Commemoration of the Liberation in Monaco and the Surrounding Areas

In this article we provide details of the events this Sunday to honour the memory of the Liberation in Monaco and local areas. In the following places and times there will be various remembrance events and receptions to mark this important historical occasion.

Sunday, 3rd September, Monaco. At 5 pm, in the cemetery of Monaco there will be a commemoration of the Liberation. To commemorate this event, a wreath laying ceremony will be carried out at the monument to the dead as well as on the graves of the two Monegasque heroes of the Resistance.

On Sunday, 3rd September, Cape d’Ail. At 10 am, there will be a remembrance event in front of the commemorative plaque at Prince-Rainier III-de-Monaco Avenue. At 6 pm, there will be a Mass of remembrance held in the Church of Our Lady of Cap Fleuri. At 18h45 there will be a patriotic ceremony at the square of the Church. From 7:30 pm there will be a welcoming reception and a ball of the Liberation at the Castle of the Terraces. The reply to the invitation received by mailbox had to be given before Friday 1 September. Sunday, 3rd September, Beausoileil. The City of Beausoleil and the National Union of Combatants, section Beausoleil-Monaco-Cap d’Ail, will celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Liberation of Beausoleil. Note that there will also be the participation of the Committee of Epoque Commemoration.
From 10:40 am there will be a Patriotic parade with wreath laying ceremonies at the steles at the street called rue des Martyrs de-la-Résistance, Kraemer square and the stela of 18 June. There will be a speech and laying of wreaths at the monument to the dead. The ceremony will then be followed by an aperitif offered at the Camille-Blanc square.

Sunday, 3rd September in La Turbie there will be a rendezvous at 11:00 am at the Gastaut Square for the official ceremony, followed by an honourary wine reception.

This Sunday in Monaco and other local areas there will be several fine occasions to choose from to mark the memory of the Liberation.
