AS Monaco got back to winning in the game against Angers 1-0

AS Monaco got back to winning ways on Saturday night, as they beat Angers 1-0 with a goal from Radamel Falcao.

AS Monaco got things back on track with a 1-0 defeat of Angers on Saturday evening. Against opponents content to sit very deep throughout the game, Leonardo Jardim’s men made their task a whole lot easier inside the opening few moments. Radamel Falcao, leading the way like a true captain, rose to plant a majestic header into the net from Djibril Sidibé’s perfect ball and put the home side in front (2’).

Despite falling behind, the Angevins continued to sit back in their own half and committed a string of fouls, resulting in a scrappy encounter with few chances. Diakhaby went close with a skilful flick header (27’), while Balde struck an effort from the edge of the box (28’), but the second goal would not come.

Almost completely untroubled, the Red & Whites held onto their 1-0 lead to the end, getting the job done and bringing an end to the downward spiral. The result sees AS Monaco provisionally move back up to second in the table, ahead of Marseille and Lyon’s games. Just as importantly, it restores a little confidence at the start of a busy December.
