AS Monaco: a huge 2-1 win against Toulouse, and the first of the season at Louis II

Thanks to Golovin (15 ‘) and Fàbregas (62’), AS Monaco won against Toulouse and earned their first home win in L1 of the season. More than deserved for the Rouge & Blanc.

For his great return to the Stade Louis II, Leonardo Jardim starts three winter recruits: Ballo-touré, Fàbregas and Martins. The others took their place on the bench. The beginning of the game goes to the advantage of the Red & Whites who open the score a quarter of an hour into play thanks to Golovin. The Russian player receives the ball on the right for Gelson Martins. The Portuguese sets him up well and he strikes right into the far side for 1-0.

Barely five minutes later, Jullien equalized very for Toulouse on a corner. Undaunted, Monegasques continue their domination and are close to register a second goal, again by Golovin. But the attacking midfielder couldn’t beat the goalkeeper and we entered the break 1-1.

Leonardo Jardim’s men resume their march forward. Dominators in all the phases of the game, they are rewarded at the hour of play. Gelson makes a dashing run down left side and along the goalline, Falcao can not get the touch he wants but Fàbregas followed and placed the ball into the top corner with powerful and precise shot.

AS Monaco takes the advantage in this part and will not let go. A huge 2-1 win, and the first of the season at Louis II. The Monegasques are now 18th in the standings.
