The chilly winter month of January is warmed by a landmark event at the Hotel de Paris. The Princess Grace suite, the pearl in the crown of the four year renovation, has a companion.  Not just any companion. It is the ultimate royal finishing touch to this regal hotel – a suite baptized with the name Prince Rainier III.

A crown should be at the pinnacle towers at the rooftops – and so it is. This glorious and immense 600 square metre  suite towers above Casino square with sweeping views of the Mediterranean.

Louis Ducruet is taking a major step into the arena of soccer management. It is part of a dream he has shared publicly. He will be formally on board at AS Monaco and immediately available to assist Vadim Vasilyev. The timing falls perfectly with the reemergence of Leonardo Jardim as coach. It also coincides with the exit of eight players caught in the net of the transfer season: “the sweep out”.

We expect it but like the sun rising in the morning we relax and rejoice when it happens. And so it is with the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters Tennis which this year will be held from April 13th to April 21st at the prestigious Monte Carlo Country Club.

There is something unique about the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. The greatest clay court player of all-time reigns here. The red clay centre court is his dukedom. By winning his 11th Monte Carlo Masters title in 2018, he became the first and only male player in the Open Era to win a single tournament 11 times. A suite bearing his name in the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort welcomes him and Prince Albert himself has visited Rafael Nadal in his suite. At one moment in time Nadal had won 46 consecutive matches in Monte Carlo and eight titles but the streak had to come to its end sometime and Novak Djokovic took care of that in the 2013 Monte Carlo final.
