At a recent press conference, the Grimaldi Forum was proud to announce that a record-breaking number of people attended this year’s exhibition about the Forbidden City of Beijing.  The Monegasque cultural center also revealed an exciting theme for the next year’s exhibition.

2. Malizia II to compete in Transat Jacques Vabre first time for a Monegasque boat

After his 3rd place in the Rolex Fastnet Race, Pierre Casiraghi decided to enter the IMOCA 60’ Malizia II – Yacht Club de Monaco for the 13th Transat Jacques Vabre. Known for being very demanding, the biennial race for double-handers leaves Le Havre on 5th November 2017.

AS Monaco Basketball (the “Roca Team”) held their pre-season press conference at the Club Bouliste du Rocher today.

Minister of State Serge Telle was joined by Minister of the Interior Patrice Cellario, Club President Sergei Dyadechko, Club Vice-President Paul Masseron, Director Willy de Bruyn, Coach Zvezdan Mitrovic, and players Amara Sy, Jamal Shuler and Zack Wright.

During the summer of 2017, the Public Buildings Maintenance Office carried out several renovation projects in schools in the Principality, in particular at the Ecole des Révoires and the Saint-Charles swimming pool.

The first Monte-Carlo Gala for the Oceans promises to be a star-studded event which will also help protect the future of our planet.

On Thursday 28 September 2017, during the Monaco Yacht Show, the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Oceans will be held on the Terrasses de l’Opéra.  The gala will help support initiatives from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.

Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovlev has been in the press a lot recently over his lawsuit against art dealer Yves Bouvier. The billionaire and President of AS Monaco football club had some alleged collusions with Monegasque police and magistrates, which forced the director of judicial services to resign.

It all began in 2015 with a complaint filed by Dmitri Rybolovlev against Swiss businessman Yves Bouvier, who for several years, acted as his art dealer.  The Russian accused Bouvier of having swindled him.  To continue the process, he allegedly used his connections in law enforcement, as evidenced by a text message from his lawyer.

7. Nico Rosberg introduces baby daughter Naila to the world!

Current F1 world champion, Nico Rosberg and his wife Vivian welcomed baby Naila into their family this week. Rosberg shared a short video introducing their newborn baby to the world. Baby Naila joined the couple and their first daughter Alaia, who is now two years old.

8. Prince Albert II opens up about the death of his mother, Grace Kelly

In an interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Prince Albert II spoke about the tragic death of his mother, Grace Kelly and how it affected his family.

In September 1982 after crashing her car with 17-year-old Stephanie in the vehicle, Prince Albert II and his family learned about the accident while eating breakfast.

“Basically (my father) said that we had to go down the hospital because mom and Stephanie had an accident,” said Prince Albert during the interview. “It wasn’t until later that evening that it became apparent that the outcome was not going to be a good one.”

Prince Albert II went on to describe how the death of Grace Kelly greatly affected his sister Stephanie for many years. “You know, just the pain of being in that car with our mother and not being able to pull her out or to have a different outcome. She was injured, of course also, but I think it’s a traumatic experience and it would be for anybody,” he said.

The Prince of Monaco also revealed that his father was never the same after losing his beautiful wife. “It was pretty obvious that he was deeply affected and he wasn’t quite the same man as he was before the accident.”
