An ecological hot air balloon rose above the Prince’s Palace for the first time ever.  The purpose of the operation was to find out whether a hot air balloon could be inflated on the Palace Square for future trips. Prince Albert II experienced the successful mission, boarded the beautiful balloon and soared above the Principality during one of the first times the new technology has ever been used.

Jeeper Champagne collaborated with Switzerland, Catalonia, Italy and Monaco to create the environmentally friendly air balloon based on a very simple inspiration: double glazed windows. A double-layered balloon with 6 centimetres of air between the inner shell and the outer shell keeps the heat inside. The balloon also boasts side propulsion too, a new feat in the world of hot air balloons.  It also uses propane, the cleanest fossil energy and a special burner which leaves no residue.  The next adventure for the hot air balloon will be a five-hour flight that might take passengers to Milan, Venice, Lyon or Saint-Etienne, depending on the wind!
