Elīna Garanča Concert

March 31 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
€100
Auditorium Rainier III

Elīna Garanča Concert with the Chorus of the Monte-Carlo Opera and Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will be held on 31 March 2026 at 8 pm in Auditorium Rainier III.

Since her debut as Annio in La clemenza di Tito, conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the 2003 Salzburg Festival, Elīna Garanča’s career has allowed this remarkable Latvian mezzo-soprano to forge her own path with increasing success and widespread admiration. It is rare these days for a singer to move so effortlessly from Mozart’s fiery Dorabella to Wagner’s demanding (both musically and artistically) Kundry. And all this without neglecting Italian Romantic bel canto, the dramatic repertoire of Verdi, the world of art song, and symphonic works for voice and orchestra, and without ever concealing her particular love for that quintessentially Spanish form, somewhere between comic opera and musical comedy, that is the zarzuela. Elīna Garanča’s evident elegance, keen intelligence, and crystal-clear diction, coupled with a noble timbre and perfect vocal control spanning the lowest to the highest registers, make her performances as memorable artistically as they are for the sensuality she passionately embodies in her stage portrayals. The Monte-Carlo Opera is particularly proud to present Elīna Garanča in a concert of operatic arias, featuring highlights from the most beautiful roles in her vast and varied repertoire. Leading the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, we are delighted to welcome back the Hungarian conductor Henrik Nánási. He was notably the conductor of the Komische Oper Berlin during the Barrie Kosky era, celebrated by audiences and critics alike for his bold and vibrant productions.
