Film Club: “The Source”

Screening of “The Source” (2011) by Radu Mihaileanu and Alain-Michel Blanc, starring Leïla Bekhti, Hafsia Herzi, and Hiam Abbass is organized on October 28, 2026 at 7 pm.

The story takes place in the present day in a small village somewhere between North Africa and the Middle East. Since time immemorial, the women have trekked up the mountain under a scorching sun to fetch water from the spring. Leila (Leïla Bekhti), a young bride, proposes that the women go on a “love strike”: no more cuddles and no more sex until the men bring water to the village.

The Diocese of Monaco invites you to a friendly monthly evening centered around a film.

The event begins at 7:00 pm with a shared meal based on what everyone brings; everything is pooled together to create a hearty and enjoyable feast!

Then, at 8:00 pm, the scheduled film is screened.

After the screening, a brief discussion allows everyone to talk about the film’s themes.

All in all, a delightful evening spent with friends!
