A Prestigious Setting for a Historic Start
The riders will set off for the 81st edition of the Vuelta against the unique backdrop of the Principality. Port Hercule, the Place du Casino, and the iconic corners of the Formula 1 circuit will provide a spectacular urban course for the opening prologue, before the race heads through neighbouring France and onwards to Spain.
The choice of Monaco highlights the Principality’s international prestige and its long-standing passion for major sporting events. Having previously hosted the Grand Départ of the 2009 Tour de France alongside numerous other elite competitions, Monaco once again cements its status as a premier global stage for sport.
A Celebration of Cycling for All
Alongside the official start, a variety of events will be on offer: amateur cycle rides, exhibitions dedicated to the Vuelta, team meet-and-greets, and “fan villages” located around the Port and the Place du Casino. Residents and visitors alike will have the chance to experience the buzz of this great cycling festival first-hand.
