Festival season continues on Cote d’Azur and weekend is the perfect time to check them out. Visit Menton and Nice, take a look at their traditional parades and don’t forget about local events here in Monaco that we’ve listed here.
The arrival of spring to Nice is unimaginable without its traditional Nice Carnival and flower parades. Its 2026, held from February 11 till March 1, its theme is “Vive la Reine!” with the most colourful scenery, huge inflatable sculptures, live music and tons of confetti. Are you ready to take part in its fragrant battle of flowers? Or enjoy a scenic night corso parade? Then head to Masséna Square in Nice and get ready for tons of fun!
Menton and lemons are inseparable! Not only is this fragrant fruit cultivated in the city, but the annual festival featuring giant lemon and orange sculptures seems to bring them to life. The Lemon Festival in Menton, on February 14 – March 1, traditionally hosts fruit parades, light shows, street animations and fairs. Its 2026 theme is “Wonders of Life”.
Les Concerts de la Voûte: The Voice of the Amazon is organized in the Reformed Church of Monaco on Saturday 21 February 2026 at 7 pm.
This concert is dedicated to Brazilian composer Antonio Santana.
Pelléas and Mélisande by Claude Debussy will be on stage of the Monte Carlo Opera on February 22, 2026.
Claude Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, the most iconic French opera of the 20th century, was first performed in Monaco in 1924. Its music is impressionistic: the vocal parts are written to reflect the natural dialogue in a sustained manner, while the orchestral score abounds with shimmering colors and nuances. The story is based on Maurice Maeterlinck’s eponymous play, a seminal work of Symbolist theater. It unfolds in an imaginary medieval world and contains the fundamental elements of myth and fairy tale: a dark castle and forest, a stern father and two brothers—one eager to please but unloved, the other sensitive and charming—a blonde princess of unknown origins who becomes the victim of sibling rivalry, and a deep well into which she first drops her crown, then her wedding ring. The events unfold before us as if in a dream, with the constant feeling that the important things are never truly said.
This new production from the Monte-Carlo Opera promises to be an exceptional collaboration, bringing together, among others, Jean-Louis Grinda, Kazuki Yamada, and the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. Among a cast of leading singers, we are pleased to present the Monte-Carlo Opera debuts of Lea Desandre, Huw Montague Rendall, and Gerald Finley.
And don’t forget about the exhibitions. For example the New National Museum of Monaco is dedicating an original exhibition to cacti and succulent plants on 06.07.2025 – 11.01.2026, in collaboration with the YVES SAINT LAURENT Museum in Marrakech, which initiated the project in 2024. Curated by Marc Jeanson and Laurent Le Bon, with scenography by Jasmin Oezcebi, “Cactus” offers a dual perspective, botanical and artistic, on these plants.
