Fernando Alonso personally commissioned the new, ultra-rare Aston Martin called “Valiant”. The champion F1 driver received the keys to his new car, estimated to be worth upwards of €2 million, in Monaco and was spotted showing it off on the streets of the Principality.

The Valiant was born from my passion for pushing the limits of driving. I wanted to create a more extreme, race-inspired version of a track-focused car, while still delivering exhilarating road driving. Working with the Aston Martin team, I believe we have created a masterpiece,” said Alonso.

The car is the “most extreme front-engine road car ever built by Aston Martin”. Road legal, but inspired by the track, the 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 with a manual transmission boasts motorsport-grade “lightweighting”.

Spectacular Specs

According to Aston Martin, the new car combines the fearlessness of 70s race cars with the technology and materials of today, including magnesium wheels, carbon-fibre aero covers and a quad titanium exhaust. The impressive vehicle also has a half cage, exposed gear linkages and race-inspired dampers.

The Spanish driver who won two Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles and 32 Grands Prix across 22 seasons (including two wins in Monaco) personally commissioned Aston Martin to build a car that is a “monument to the thrill of driving, without a single flinch of moderation.”

“Perfect Sunday ride, Valiant, you’ve got it all,” said Alonso on instagram, with five photos of him and his partner showing off the new ride around the Principality. (The photos have gained 1.5 million likes on instagram.)

The champion driver picked up his new steed just before Christmas. “A festive Christmas to remember, as we just had the pleasure of delivering him his brand new Aston Martin DBX S ! All the Aston Martin Monaco team wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season !” wrote Aston Martin Monaco on instagram.

Not long before receiving his new commissioned car, the driver was also spotted around the streets of Monaco in his extremely rare Mercedes CLK GTR.
