If you’re looking for a behind-the-scenes look at a world-class sporting event, Monaco’s leg of La Vuelta is looking for volunteers. The Principality will be hosting the Grand Departure of La Vuelta on 22 and 23 August.

Welcoming the public, providing logistical assistance, guiding spectators, supporting teams, there is a need for everyone, regardless of age (18+) or experience.

“Through this sporting event, we have the opportunity to show the world another side of our country, one that is committed to promoting popular sport in its noblest sense.  Hosting La Vuelta is much more than a celebration of sport, its athletes and performance in a highly demanding discipline. It is a symbol of openness and influence for our country which, I would remind you, was the World Capital of Sport in 2025,” said H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

The first information volunteer meeting will be held on Wednesday 4 March at 6pm in the auditorium of the Lycée Rainier III (7 allée Lazare Sauvaigo). Volunteers are being recruited to help with the event’s organization, all while contributing to Monaco’s reputation on the international sporting scene and gaining unique human and organizational experience.

La Vuelta’s Routes in Monaco

Monaco’s routes for the sporting event were recently unveiled by Prince Albert II. Festivities will officially begin on Thursday 20 August with the traditional presentation of the teams.

The main highlight of the four-day event will be the 9.6-kilometre individual time trial, which will start from Place du Casino on Saturday 22 August. The route will run entirely through the streets of the Principality, showcasing some of Monaco’s most iconic locations. Competitors will cycle past the Place du Casino, through the Moulins district, the Fairmont bend, the Larvotto district, Port Hercule, Port de Fontvieille, the Cirque marquee and Stade Louis II before finishing at the start/finish line of the Grands Prix Automobiles.

Another highlight will be the second stage on Sunday 23 August, which will start from the Place du Palais Princier and the Jardin Exotique, before the riders set off towards France.

To register to become a volunteer, head to La Vuelta Monaco’s website (lavueltamonaco.gouv.mc) and fill out the registration form.
