The Casino de Monte-Carlo and the Casino Café de Paris shone at the European Casino Awards ceremony on January 19 in Barcelona. While the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has regularly won prestigious awards at this particular event, this year the Group received the highest distinction for its two gaming establishments: Best Overall Casino.
“This award recognizes the excellence of our gaming establishments and confirms once again the leading position held by the SBM and its teams on the international gaming scene. 2026 could not have started better for the SBM and its Casinos,” said the Société des Bains de Mer in a recent press release.
From 18 to 21 January, a 17-person delegation from the Group traveled to Barcelona for the prestigious annual event honouring professionals in the gaming industry. The highly coveted Best Overall Casino award recognizes the overall excellence of a casino based on several criteria, such as the quality and variety of games offered, the user experience, customer service, and player security.
“These criteria have been rigorously applied by the two casinos of the Monegasque Group since the Casino de Monte-Carlo was founded in 1863. A true symbol of the Principality on the international stage, combining the thrill of gaming with sumptuous salons that have even served as film sets, the Casino de Monte-Carlo has been perpetuating the Monte-Carlo Legend for over 162 years,” said the SBM in a recent press release.
Opened in 2016 and boasting nearly 400 state-of-the-art slot machines, the Casino Café de Paris offers the largest selection of slot machines on the French Riviera. Its upcoming renovation, to be completed by spring 2027, will offer players “an even more modern and innovative gaming establishment”.
Last year, the Monte-Carlo Casino received the Best Customer Service award at the International Casino Exhibition Barcelona 2025 trade show, while the Casino Café de Paris won the Best Live Entertainment award. That same year, both casinos won Best Slot Team at the European Dealer Championship. The title of Best Overall Casino was also awarded to the Casino de Monte-Carlo at the Casino Awards during the International Casino Exhibition London 2022 trade show.
