The Princess Grace Foundation recently announced the names of 18 Princess Grace Award winners and 12 Honoraria recipients. This extraordinary group of artists join a community of over 900 Princess Grace Award winners and Honoraria.
Prince Albert II is set to travel to New York City on October 29 for the black-tie awards evening. The Sovereign will be presenting the Prince Rainier III award on behalf of the Princess Grace Foundation to Jon M. Chu. The event will also celebrate the 70th anniversary of Princess Grace’s Oscar win.
“To commemorate the memory of Prince Rainier III of Monaco, this citation recognizes entertainment luminaries whose own outstanding artistic excellence is combined with their dedication to giving back to their communities. This year, we will honour Princess Grace Award Winner Jon M. Chu with this prestigious award,” said the Princess Grace Foundation in a recent press release.
The Prince Rainier III award comes with a grant of $25,000 to the philanthropic organization of the winner’s choice. In 2001, the Princess Grace Foundation USA awarded a grant to Jon M. Chu, while he was still a student, to help finance his first short film. At 45, the Californian director of “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Wicked” is a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Last year, Michael Douglas was awarded with the Prince Rainier III Award.
