Fast, Furious, and (Very) Expensive: Schumacher’s Monaco-Winning Ferrari Up for Grabs

In a move that has motorsport enthusiasts and collectors alike on the edge of their seats, RM Sotheby’s is poised to auction one of Formula 1TM racing’s most iconic machines: Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2001, chassis 211. This very car propelled the legendary driver to victory at the 2001 Monaco Grand PrixTM and later clinched both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships with a win in Hungary, marking a pivotal moment in Ferrari’s storied history.

The auction is set to take place on May 24, 2025, just minutes before the qualifying session of the Formula 1 Tag Heuer Grand Prix de MonacoTM. This marks the first time a Formula 1TM car will be auctioned during the Monaco Grand PrixTM weekend, adding a layer of historical significance to an already momentous event.

Following the official ceremony on 4 February, which marked 40 years since the construction and inauguration of the Louis II Stadium, a second event is now being held to celebrate this iconic anniversary. A never-before-seen exhibition, this time dedicated to the stadium’s athletes, performers and visitors, will open on 28 April in the heart of this unique venue: the stadium’s indoor pedestrian zone.

Completely renovated especially for the exhibition, the pedestrian zone inside the Louis II Stadium has been given a facelift. Work was carried out over a five-week period to redesign the floors, walls and ceilings, transforming this passageway into a pleasant, warm and welcoming space where people can enjoy a stroll.

National Council Decommissions land on Rue Grimaldi for New Housing

The National Council approved a new law to decommission a plot of land between the state-owned building “Les Jacarandas” and 39 and 43 rue Grimaldi, to make way for new housing.

Bill No. 1103 declares the decommissioning of a 144 m² plot of land belonging to the State’s public domain. This will allow it to be transformed into a real estate project involving the construction of an 18-story building, primarily for residential use, in exchange for the donation to the State of three apartments, as well as four parking spaces and four cellars.

The Cannes Film Festival has announced that American actor, director, and producer Robert De Niro will be honoured with the prestigious Honorary Palme d’Or during the opening ceremonyof its 78th edition on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This accolade recognizes De Niro’s exceptional contributions to cinema over his illustrious career. The following day, on Wednesday May 14, he will meet festival-goers for a masterclass on the stage of the Debussy Theatre.

De Niro’s relationship with Cannes spans decades. In 1976, hestarred in two films presented at the festival: Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1900 and Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver, the latter winning the Palme d’Or. His portrayal of Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver remains one of his most iconic roles.
