The starts of Monaco’s highly anticipated Winter Sales (Soldes d’Hiver) begins earlier and runs longer than the rest of France. In the Principality, 2 January marks the start of the sales for most retailers, with significant discounts on luxury and various other goods, while in France, sales usually begin on 20 January. Monaco’s Winter Sales end in mid-February.
With almost every luxury label imaginable available in Monaco, from fashion to fine jewellery and watches, customers are sure to have an unforgettable shopping experience during this year’s Winter Sales.
One Monte-Carlo
“One” of the main shopping focal points in Monaco, where many people will be doing their Winter Sale shopping, is One Monte-Carlo. The new and modern One Monte-Carlo district is a place where Monegasque and international visitors alike can peruse collections from some of the top designers in the world.
It is home to a total of 24 luxury boutiques, 17 of which are in the complex itself on the new Promenade Princesse Charlène and the Avenue Princesse Alice. Several others line the Avenue des Beaux-Arts: Dior, Piaget, Alexander McQueen and Bulgari, with five of the most prestigious luxury brands standing side-by-side: Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Fendi and Prada.
Metropole Shopping
Another area that is sure to draw a Winter Sales crowd is Monaco’s Metropole Shopping, which houses 80 boutiques dedicated to fashion, gastronomy, beauty, high-tech, and haute couture jewelry
Alter Designs
Metropole Shopping is also home to Pauline Ducruet’s Alter fashion label’s boutique, located on the first floor of the shopping centre. Princess Stephanie’s daughter founded the label in 2018 and the label prides itself on its strong commitment to environmentally sustainable fashion and respect for gender diversity.
The label is currently holding a sale on several winter pieces, including their striped Apollo trench coat, which is now priced at €880 (down from €1,300). Alter’s grey tweed Nalla long coat is currently on sale for €980 (down €1400) and their Camilo sweater is €574 (down from €820), among many other items.
French sales are strictly regulated, with discounts only allowed on items already in stock before the sales period. Reductions are expected to reach 50% as the sale progresses.
