Spins, Screams and Sweet Treats: What’s New When The Monaco Funfair Lights Up the Port?

This autumn, Monaco invites locals and visitors alike to rediscover the charm and thrill of the fair, by land, sea and steel.

As the sea air chills just a little, Port Hercule readies itself for a metamorphosis. From October 17 to November 19, Monaco’s  harbour will pulsate with laughter, lights, and the compelling thrum of machines in motion, as the beloved autumn fair returns in full glory.

This year, two show-stopping newcomers take centre stage:From October 17 to November 19.

“Party The Best”, a spectacle promising dizzying fun, and “Gyroscope”, with its gravity-defying loops and spins.

They join about eighty attractions, from generous giant slides and bumper cars to the perennial crowd-pleasers Palais des Glaces and Combat Spatial, plus the games of skill that lure you in with the hope of winning a prize.

Feast for the Senses

By day, the quayside will smell of sugar, batter and roasting nuts, waffles, doughnuts, toffee apples, crêpes, Hungarian brioches and hot dogs …all the guilty pleasures that make you feel like a child again.   The stands open from 11:00 a.m. for food and gentle rides; the rest of the attractions begin operating at 2:00 p.m.

On weeknights, the fun winds down at 11:00 p.m., but Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays stay alive till midnight ….and on November 18, the night before Monaco’s National Day, the fair will spin until 1:00 a.m.   Halloween will be marked too: costumes are welcome, though any weapon-like props will be prohibited.

Order, Safety & Flow

To keep things smooth and safe, eight access points will be arranged along Quai Albert I, each with bag checks.   Because space is finite, visitor numbers will be capped and when capacity is reached, entry will be paused. A live counter on the Mairie de Monaco website will show real-time attendance so you can pick the perfect moment to visit.
