Prince Albert II visits Rwanda and meets with President Kagame
The Sovereign travelled to Africa for a busy three-day visit. First, Prince Albert II visited two beekeeping schools from the French Observatory of Apidology (OFA) in Rwanda on Friday, September 26. The schools train vulnerable women in beekeeping with the goal of providing them with financial independence through honey production.
“This visit is part of the Prince’s and his foundation’s active support for the OFA’s work to protect bees and promote biodiversity,” said the Princely Palace.
The Sovereign also participated in the launch of the Carlos Takamà Boxing Academy in Kigali, a centre dedicated to the sports and educational training of African youth, founded by former boxing champion Carlos Takam, who trained for many years in the Principality.
Finally, the Prince is met Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda.
Prince Albert II attends first World Cycling Championships in Africa
Prince Albert II travelled to Kigali on Saturday 27 September during his visit in Rwanda, for the World Road Cycling Championships, a historic first on the African continent. The UCI Cycling competition was officially launched in his presence.
First, HSH the Prince attended the official ceremony for the women’s event, where he was invited by the UCI to present the medals on the podium, including the gold medal to Canadian cyclist, Magdeleine Vallières.
The following day, the Sovereign Prince signalled the start of the men’s event. Monegasque cyclist, Victor Langellotti, participated in the men’s competition. Slovenian cyclist, Tadej Pogacar, won the men’s championship. Only 30 riders crossed the finish line of the extremely demanding 267-kilometre race with over 6,000 metres of elevation gain!
Monaco Celebrates 4th Smile Day
Les Smileys Monaco organized Smile Day across the Principality on Saturday, October 4, the day after World Smile Day. The event took place under the honorary presidency of Prince Albert II.
With the purchase of a 5 euro ticket, kids were able to enjoy family activities like colouring, face painting, wooden and construction games, basketball and medical workshops. Last year, the Princely family attended the event.
Prince Albert II honours Jane Goodall after her Death at age 91
Jane Goodall passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, October 1, while on a speaking tour in Los Angeles, California. The Prince expressed his deep sadness about the trailblazing scientist’s death.
“It is with deep sadness that HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco has learned of the passing of Dr. Jane Goodall, an iconic figure in the protection of nature and great apes. A pioneer, an inspiration, and a visionary, she dedicated her life to safeguarding biodiversity and educating future generations,” wrote the Princely Palace.
In 2008, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation awarded her its very first Prize for her outstanding commitment to the environment. Only last week in New York, the Prince had the joy of sharing with her a moment of profound humanity and mutual admiration.
Prince Albert II participates in the European Political Community Summit
The Sovereign participated in discussions during the 7th CPE Summit in Copenhagen, along with other European Heads of State, on Thursday, October 2. Issues of stability, security, and cooperation in Europe were discussed.
The Prince’s visit to Denmark began with an official dinner with King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark at the Amalienborg Palace.



During the summit, the Sovereign participated in discussions on “Economic Security and Reducing European Dependencies,” where he highlighted the need to reduce external dependencies in sectors like energy, technology, and defence. He emphasized the role of innovation, citing Monaco Tech, the startup incubator dedicated to clean energy, as a concrete example of economic and ecological resilience.



The Sovereign also met with the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, who will be responsible for the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026, as well as the Head of Government of Andorra, Xavier Espot Zamora.

Princess Stephanie, Camille Gottlieb attend Global Gift Gala
The Global Gift Gala made its grand debut in Monaco at the iconic Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris on October 4, 2025. Eva Longoria attended the event as the Honorary Chair of the glamorous philanthropic evening. The Charity event brought together Princess Stephanie, Camille Gottlieb, Alexander Grimaldi, Marie and Louis Ducruet. The gala’s Humanitarian Award was presented to Princess Stephanie, in recognition of her enduring humanitarian commitment.
