AS Monaco got the job done at the Stade Louis-II on Friday evening with a 4-0 win over Dijon, the 50th successive home match in which they have scored at least one goal.
Against a side who posed plenty of problems on their last visit to the Louis-II, the Red & Whites got the job done in style on Friday night, running out 4-0 winners. Keita Balde got the ball rolling for the home side with barely a quarter of an hour gone, finishing off a superb team move orchestrated by Lemar and Sidibé (13′, 1-0).
Danijel Subasic then produced two fine saves to preserve the Monegasques’ lead (41′, 55′). the home side gave themselves breathing space from the spot, with Fabinho converting a penalty won by Tielemans (68′, 2-0). And Leonardo Jardim’s men kept up the assault, adding two more late on.
Rony Lopes notched the third (85′), before Kamil Glik powered a quite magnificent left-footed half-volley into the top corner! The win sees AS Monaco ramp up the pressure further on their closest rivals, with a four and eight point advantage over Marseille and Lyon respectively.
