It is now official: Monaco United are champions of District 06 for the 2025–2026 season. Thanks to their emphatic 14–0 victory over AS Fontonne Antibes this Sunday, in the penultimate league match of the season, the Monaco-based club is now mathematically guaranteed to finish top of the table and will go on to compete in the promotion play-offs for the Régional division. This is a major milestone for the club, which is competing in its very first season in existence and has already secured the first title in its history.
“This season, built entirely from scratch, was prepared in the best possible way and enabled the team to deliver on its promises by achieving its first objective. This historic title for the club marks a significant moment shared by everyone involved in the adventure.” Marco Simone, President and Head Coach of Monaco United WFC
“Being captain of Monaco United comes with real responsibility. I feel truly honoured to have been part of the birth of this project and to be fully committed to the club’s ambitions. Every day, I strive to lead by example, support my teammates, and uphold our values both on and off the pitch.” Houleyemata Deme, Monaco United captain

A First Title… and a Ticket to the Promotion Play-Offs
With first place now officially secured, Monaco United have not only written the first chapter of their honours list, but have also confirmed their place in the promotion play- offs, scheduled for the end of May. As a reminder, only the team finishing first in the league was eligible to reach these play-offs, which serve as the gateway to the next level. Monaco United have therefore earned the right to compete in this decisive stage for promotion, where they will face other teams that have also finished first in their respective district leagues (draw to be confirmed), with one clear objective: to reach the regional level next season. This title therefore represents a crucial first step and offers a clear glimpse of the ambitions the club set out from the moment it was founded. “I feel a great deal of emotion and pride,” says Houleyemata Deme, captain of Monaco United. “It’s the result of the hard work we put in every single day, along with all the sacrifices and effort behind it. Winning it at home, in front of our supporters, makes this moment even more special and powerful. It is a huge joy shared with the entire team and staff, a collective reward that brings us even closer together.”

Four Straight Wins Since the Cup Trip to Rousset
Following their qualification in the Coupe Méditerranée in Rousset, Monaco United put together four consecutive dominant victories in the league, further underlining both their unbeaten run and their growing momentum at the most decisive stage of the season. The streak began with a controlled away performance in Mougins, followed by a convincing home win against AS Cagnes Le Croc. The Monaco side then confirmed their consistency with another away success on the pitch of Cavigal Nice, before wrapping up the run against AS Fontonne Antibes, a result that officially sealed the title even before the final league fixture. Marco Simone welcomed the achievement: “Being champions already confirms our dominance over the course of the season. It is a source of satisfaction, but also a great responsibility, because it reflects the level of standards we must continue to maintain if we want to keep winning.”
Beyond the result itself, this title carries a much broader significance. It symbolises the full scope of the project launched last June, a clear, ambitious, and structured vision for women’s football in the Principality. From the very beginning, Monaco United made its intentions known: to build a club that is competitive, demanding, and capable of climbing the ladder quickly.

Winning a title in the very first season of the club’s existence sends a powerful message. It confirms not only the strength of the club’s working model, but also its ability to turn ideas into tangible results in a remarkably short space of time. “The journey has been extraordinary. In sport, you can never be certain of the final outcome, but we knew exactly what we were building. And today, that is reflected in our level of play, in the quality of the squad, and in our statistics across the entire season,” said Marco Simone. A feeling shared by captain Houleyemata Deme: “I am very proud of how far we have come together as a team since the beginning of this journey. We have learned to understand one another, to trust each other, and to move forward together. Reaching this first objective reflects our determination and the hard work of everyone involved at the club. It is an important milestone, but also the beginning of something even greater.”
From the very first training sessions, the players embraced a clear vision and a daily standard of excellence that allowed the squad to move forward in the same direction. Under the guidance of the Italian coach, Monaco United gradually developed a genuine footballing identity. With a playing philosophy refined rigorously through four training sessions per week, it has become a true collective trademark. That long-term work is now clearly visible on the pitch, through a team capable of controlling matches, dictating the tempo, keeping possession, pressing high, and showing real efficiency in front of goal. “The team’s development has been constant, match after match, with progress in every area of the game,” the coach observed.

Against AS Fontonne Antibes: Complete and Unquestionable Dominance
From the opening moments, the Monaco players took full control of the match, settling deep in the opposition half through composed and controlled possession. Superior in duels, technically sharp, and highly disciplined in attack, their dominance was quickly rewarded with the goals needed to make the difference. Monaco United were therefore able to pull away within the opening minutes, putting themselves in a commanding position and managing the rest of the game to win by 14–0.
It was a controlled and emphatic win, fully in keeping with the level Monaco United have maintained throughout the season, and one that officially seals their status as District 06 champions while also confirming their place in the promotion play-offs for the next division. Marco Simone knows what lies ahead: “It will be the most important moment of the season. We have two months to prepare for it, with the same level of intensity and high standards, because that is where everything will be decided.”

Next Fixture: A Historic Coupe Méditerranée Semi-Final
No sooner had this title been confirmed than Monaco United immediately turned their attention to another major occasion. On Sunday, 5 April at 3:00 pm, at Stade Didier Deschamps, the club will contest the semi-final of the Coupe Méditerranée. Standing in their way will be Hyères, a side currently competing in the Régional division, actually one level above Monaco United, and firmly established in the upper part of the table at that level. On paper, the visitors will therefore start as favourites. But Monaco United have already shown throughout this season that they are more than capable of challenging the established hierarchy and pushing beyond it.

After the Rousset Feat, Dreaming Even Bigger
To reach this semi-final, Monaco United produced a landmark upset by winning away at Rousset against a Division 3 side, in a match that will remain one of the defining turning points of the season.
Next Sunday, the stakes will therefore be immense: a place in the first final in the club’s history, in a competition that brings together the strongest teams in the department. And the opportunity is all the more significant given that no district-level club has ever reached the final of the prestigious Coupe Méditerranée. Should Monaco United overcome Hyères, the club could therefore become the first team in the history of district women’s football to reach that final and earn the chance to play in an exceptional showpiece match, with yet another title within reach. “We still have major ambitions in the cup competitions, starting with Sunday. There is a great match to be played and a final at the end of it, so our mindset is clear: stay focused and be fully competitive. We want to win as many titles as possible in this very first season,” said the President and Head Coach of Monaco United.
A new chapter could therefore be written as early as next Sunday. Kick-off is at 3:00 pm at Stade Didier Deschamps in Cap d’Ail.
