Conference: “Solidarity” is organized by the Monaco Philosophical Meetings on Thursday April 4, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Princess Grace Theatre.
Like freedom, fraternity has more of an incantatory power than a rigorous meaning – other than that of a bond created by belonging to the same biological family. Moreover, the term imposes itself and is raised as a moral flag, which encloses in its folds and swallows up the equally worthy one of sorority. Strictly speaking, fraternity escapes the operational field of politics and flees all jurisdiction: no “measure” creates it, no law shapes it, no decree obliges it.
