For more than four decades, the nine arches of the Stade Louis-II have formed one of the Principality’s most familiar silhouettes. Now, for the first time, players around the world will be able to step beneath them without travelling there.
EA Sports has confirmed that AS Monaco’s celebrated home will be faithfully recreated in EA Sports FC 27, placing the stadium alongside some of world football’s most recognisable arenas.
The announcement resolves a small mystery surrounding the game. The Stade Louis-II had already appeared on the cover of the Standard Edition before its inclusion was officially revealed, a discreet clue for particularly observant supporters.
Opened in 1985, the stadium is unlike almost any other major football ground. Its pitch and stands form part of a vast multi-purpose complex constructed partly above a car park, while its sweeping arches give it an architectural identity unmistakably linked to Monaco.
Those details should make the virtual version considerably more distinctive than the average digital stadium. Gamers will finally be able to lead AS Monaco onto its own accurately reproduced home pitch, framed by the arches that have witnessed generations of celebrated players and memorable European evenings.
The Louis-II is one of several new grounds joining the series, together with Real Oviedo’s Estadio Carlos Tartiere and Legia Warsaw’s municipal stadium. Its arrival also reflects the extraordinary scale of the modern game: FC 27 will feature more than 21,000 players, over 800 clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and more than 35 leagues.
EA Sports FC 27 will be released worldwide on 25 September 2026, with early access beginning on 18 September for eligible players. It will be available across PlayStation, Xbox, PC and both generations of Nintendo Switch.
