Exhibition “Memory of Places”

September 29, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - January 24, 2027 @ 6:00 pm
exhibition "Memory of Places"

Until January 24, 2027, the Department of Cultural Affairs is presenting an evocative reflection at the Quai Antoine Ier exhibition hall on what remains when buildings vanish, landscapes transform, and the city reinvents itself in the exhibition “Memory of Places”, dedicated to the Principality’s heritage. The exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover.

Curated by Célia Bernasconi, Director of the Heritage Institute, the exhibition highlights works that tell the story of the Principality and reflects the Princely Government’s commitment to preserving and passing on Monegasque heritage.

Through photographs, monumental works, audiovisual installations, and contemporary creations, the public is invited to explore Monaco from a new perspective: a city in constant flux, where artworks, architecture, narratives, and the experiences of its inhabitants form fragments of a living memory.

The exhibition design was created as part of the “Décors” program by Louise Chatelain and Théophile Sargenti, students from Pavillon Bosio.

For “Mémoire des lieux” (Memory of Places), guest artist Gabriel-Noé Rosticher produced original works—including a new film dedicated to Monaco—that map the Principality through its tunnels, galleries, infrastructure, traffic routes, and spaces undergoing transformation.

Free admission from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday.
