Exhibition: Memory of Place (Mémoire des lieux)
The Monaco Department of Cultural Affairs presents “Mémoire des lieux” (Memory of Places), an exhibition dedicated to the heritage and memories that shape the Monegasque landscape.
From October 1, 2026, to January 24, 2027, the Quai Antoine Ier Exhibition Hall becomes the setting for a thoughtful exploration of what remains when buildings vanish, landscapes transform, and the city reinvents itself.
Through photographs, monumental works, audiovisual installations, and contemporary creations, the exhibition invites visitors to experience Monaco from a new perspective: a city in constant flux, where artworks, architecture, narratives, and the experiences of its inhabitants all form fragments of a living memory.
Curated by Célia Bernasconi, Director of the Heritage Institute, the exhibition aligns with the mission to preserve and showcase works that contribute to the Principality’s history.
Guest artist: Gabriel-Noé Rosticher
A 2023 graduate of the Pavillon Bosio, Gabriel-Noé Rosticher develops a practice centered on listening to and perceiving our environment. Through video, installation, and sculptural forms, he explores urban spaces and their sonic dimensions—both visible and invisible.
For “Mémoire des lieux,” he has created a new film dedicated to Monaco, offering a sensory map of the Principality through its tunnels, passageways, infrastructure, traffic arteries, and spaces undergoing transformation.
The exhibition design is created by Louise Chatelain and Théophile Sargenti as part of the Pavillon Bosio’s “Décors” program.
