Du Domaine des Murmures (The Castle of Whispers) in Fort Antoine Theatre

Jessica Astier and William Mesguich’s adaptation of Carole Martinez’s novel Du Domaine des Murmures (The Castle of Whispers) will be on stage of the Fort Antoine Theatre on 29 July 2025 at 9.30 pm.
In 1187, on her wedding day, before the scandalized wedding party, young Esclarmonde refused to say “yes.” Against the decision of her father, the lord of the Domaine des Murmures, she offered herself to God and demanded to live walled up until her death.
She had no idea what she was taking with her to the grave, nor the journey her seclusion would entail… Far from reaching solitude, she soon became a witness and actor of her century, breathing her will from her retreat into her father’s fiefdom, inspiring pilgrims and Crusaders all the way to the Holy Land.
As every year, this summer season of the Fort Antoine Theatre, running from 1 to 29 July 2025, offers a varied programme of theatre and music in the unique and iconic setting of Fort Antoine.
